The Denver Post:

Colorado and other states may land extra convention trade -- and perhaps even businesses -- in the wake of Arizona's controversial new anti-illegal-immigration law.

"Yes, we've had some calls from two to three groups so far," said Richard Scharf, president and chief executive of the Denver convention and visitor bureau.

The largest is a 2,000-person convention. Visit Denver is "not out prospecting the groups" for business, he said.

I was considering attending a convention in Arizona. The day AZ's governor signed that unConstitutional piece of show-boat legislation I informed the organizers and rest of the membership of why I would not attend.

Would love it if they'd bring it here, but too much money already sunk into it. Pity.

Hey, Arizona, thank goodness they're brown. You don't have to go to all the expense of sewing gold stars on their clothes.

Could be. You have to understand the illegal aliens do not have ties to this country. If they do fraud, they can pick up and leave at a moments notice. Further, they offered Denver a huge amount of business if they would accept illegal aliens. Denver has become a pretty rough town at the south end. No loss to AZ, but until now, it has been.

What pernicious nonsense. "They" who? the voices under your tin-foil hat?

Most illegal laborers find jobs because of employers willing to break the law. If anyone is committing "fraud" it's these businesses who pretend otherwise.

" A Pinal County Sheriff's deputy was shot in the stomach Friday by an undocumented immigrant off Interstate 8, according sheriff's officials.

Lt. Tami Villar told 12 News that the search and rescue deputy was investigating a load of marijuana in the desert and was confronted by five suspects. She also said the wounded deputy is expected to survive. "

Proving what? There are still dangerous outlaw gangs running contraband in portions of the Old West?

Don't tell the Hells' Angels. They're such a patriotic bunch of citizens.

I hope they find every illegal immigrant in the state and get rid of them!!! Maybe then other states will follow suit. I am tired of them taking jobs, bringin in drugs, and havin kids here to stay. Good for Arizona for taking a stand that is long overdue!!!

And such is the mentality that's apparently all too common in AZ. To wit: "I'm white & the Republicans made me unemployed but it's the damned Mexicans that caused it".

Sort of like pre-war Germany, isn't it?

Now that AZ has banned ethnic studies classes -- apparently directed at the popular Mexican studies department at one of its colleges -- the real intent of SB 1070 becomes all too clear. Not r@c!st? Really, AZ?
