Spitzer Knocks Bloomberg, Obama Financial Team

Spitzer

Eliot Spitzer is at it again.

In an appearance at the 92nd Street Y Sunday night, the disgraced former-governor-turned-political-critic took shots at everyone from Mayor Bloomberg to Attorney General Cuomo to the Obama administration.

"Mike is a friend, but I think he's fundamentally in error when he talks about hesitating before we change the structure of banking," Spitzer said of Bloomberg's recent defense of Wall Street.

According to the Daily News,

On the financial crisis, Spitzer went after Larry Summers, Tim Geithner and Hank Paulson by name, but praised Paul Volcker as a wise man whose advice should have been more closely heeded.

Spitzer also told the crowd of nearly 1,000 that while Cuomo is presumably New York's next governor, he won't endorse him until he answers questions relating to health care and charter schools.

The former-governor, whose wife Silda was also in attendance, once-again refused to rule out the idea of running for office again some day.

Spitzer is some kind of solipsist whose mommy convinced him that he's the only smart person in the entire world.

If he were as smart as he thinks he is, he'd have the basic common sense not to make enemies out of just about all the major players in the NY Democratic Party, because he's going to need a lot of help from them if he chooses to run for any office in the future..

Why does what this guy think matter? Why does this guy get coverage?

If Spitzer talks and no one covers it did he actually say anything?

Because people like Vitter are still in office.

Your comment might have more weight if people like Vitter weren't still in office.

People have apparently gotten over Vitter's use of hookers and the way he first apologized publicly and then claimed he had nothing to apologize for.

New York is a mess. I voted for Spitzer because I thought he would make a difference. Instead, he resigned in disgrace and we now have a governor who is overwhelmed by the job, a state legislature that is a circus and state taxes and fees are going through the roof. Of course that's not to say that Ashley chick isn't one hot babe, As a Republican Vitter doesn't matter, he is not allowed to think or act on his own. LA would have been better off with Stormy Daniels, she had nothing to hide (and doesn't).

eww - this guy is a grease-ball.

Go, Eliot! Get the dogs, while you can.
Anyone, even with blindfolds on, knows how snookered we have been.

#1 Take your money out of the corporate banks NOW!

#2 Change your party designation to DECLINE TO STATE and keep the dogs guessing as to who you'll vote for.

Obama and Bloomberg are afraid. Quivering to what might happen if Wall Street has to play fair. In their minds, the system operates in a gray zone. Too much light may kill all opportunities to make obscene money. The center of their universe is Wall Street. Both desire to be entombed below the NY Federal Building.

Sch-vitzer doesn't need to remind me of the horrific tenure of his administration.

Governor Patterson is all the reminder we need.

Speak for yourself. Learn to spell. He went after Bruno, and the court found Bruno to be dirty. Who cares what he does on his own time with his own unit? If you do, get a life.

Spitzer was doing an effective job as Gov of NY and had a history of kicking some WS butt. The banksters weren’t having it…so, sprinkle a little scandal in his life and unleash the Puritans. For all we know he and Mrs. Spitzer may have had a “freak” clause in their marriage, it’s really none of our business. However, as usual, the Dem resigns in shame. But the likes of Sanford, Vitter, Ensign, and Craig, shudder at the mere thought. Spitzer should not have resigned, the people of NY, and by extension, the American people need men and women like Eliot Spitzer--fighting for us.

TO show you how desperate the people are for the truth, they will listen to Spitzer.

I don't pass moral judgment on the guy for what he did, but for what he didn't do: keep his word to his wife and family.

So, no moral compass on the home front, but a true north on the public front?

Maybe, but it's not a mix I would trust.

Still we need SOMEONE willing to call out Bloomberg, not to mention POTUS, both of whom are clearly on the side of Wall St. no matter what the rhetoric.
