Timeline of events in car bomb attempt in New York City's Times Square:

SATURDAY, May 1

_ 6:28 p.m. A video surveillance camera shows a sport utility vehicle entering West 45th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue.

_ 6:30 p.m. A T-shirt vendor notifies a mounted police officer of a car filling with smoke parked on the southwestern corner of West 45th Street and Broadway.

_ 6:33 p.m. The officer circles the car on horseback and radios for help. Streets are closed and a perimeter is set up as people are told to clear out.

SUNDAY, May 2

_ 2:20 a.m. Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly hold news conference two blocks from where the SUV was discovered to announce that a potentially lethal bomb was found in the vehicle. Bloomberg calls the bomb "amateurish."

_ 3 a.m. Guests of the Marriott Hotel in rooms facing West 45th Street are allowed to return to their rooms after being evacuated hours earlier.

_ 7:30 a.m. All streets reopened to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

_ 3 p.m. Kelly and FBI Special Agent in Charge George Venizelos hold news conference to announce that a videotape of a possible suspect has been obtained. Further details on the propane-and-gas bomb are disclosed.

This is just proof that extremists will now infiltrate our system by becoming citizens. We saw it in the Texas shootings last year. I also want to congratulate our law enforcement officers and those that handled the investigation. They were able to get this loser before the plane took off. It was a close call, but the caught him.
