Jane Beshear, First Lady Of Kentucky, Addresses Breast Cancer Among Women In Horse Industry
Of the thousands of women who work behind the scenes in the Kentucky horse industry, many are uninsured and don't have the time or resources to get medical care. Without medical attention, many of these women would never know if they have breast cancer -- a disease which claims 3,000 lives in the state each year.
First lady Jane Beshear has stepped in to help these women with her organization Horses and Hope, which brings mobile clinics to the Churchill Downs racetrack, providing free breast cancer screenings.
