Ben Roethlisberger 'Sports Illustrated' Profile Reveals MORE Sketchy Behavior

Sports Illustrated has published a lengthy cover story on Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, and some of the revelations are less than flattering. The article catalogs a series of rude and unseemly behavior that multiple sources attribute to Roethlisberger.

A pregnant T.G.I. Friday's waitress tells the magazine that Roethlisberger directed numerous inappropriate comments at her while she was working earlier in 2010. She claims that the Steeler asked her, "Did your boyfriend forget to pull out?"

The article also claims that Roethlisberger has left bars without paying his tabs "on at least two occasions," with a waitress chasing him through a parking lot after one such incident occurred.

Even Roethlisberger's friends reportedly find his behavior unsettling:

When they're out together, the man, who didn't want his name used, sometimes feels obligated to apologize to waiters and bartenders whom Roethlisberger has treated like garbage. He says he shakes his head when he sees Roethlisberger "disrespect" women in bars.

Click here to read the entire article, full of many additional details.

Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault for the second time in less than a year in March. A witness said he "aggressively" hit on bar patrons, and the quarterback's bodyguards allegedly blocked the door to the bathroom where the accuser said she was assaulted. Another witness says Roethlisberger exposed himself at the bar, and the resulting police file reveals another woman who says he "forced his hand up" her skirt at a party.

No criminal charges were filed, but the NFL suspended him for at least four games.

He is a good Quarterback a very good one and he knows it. Ben's problems are attitude....he's very boorish and and and arrogant. Being a life long Steeler's fan I find his behavoir crude and disgusting. Possibley criminal, I do wish the Steelers would trade him, if Leftwich gets the team off to a hot start, watch Bennie ride the bench!!!!!!!!!!

Is this any real surprise? Rothlisberger has an inflated image of himself, a sense of entitlement, and a bad personality. All of these things come together to make him into one disagreeable fellow, one with whom I would not want my son or daughter to associate. He's not even that good a QB. It's a shame a proud franchise like the Steelers has to weather the storm of his stupidity. He doesn't deserve the millions of dollars and adulation that come with a football career. If you want to be a jerk, fine, be a jerk. But be a jerk in private. Be a RESPONSIBLE jerk.

Just look at Michael Jordan. No one knew what a jerk he was when he was playing. It wasn't until his Hall of Fame speech that we saw HIS true colors. At least he had the good sense not to be jerky when he was playing.

I'd say it's way too bad Ben's Dad didn't pull out sooner. If I owned the Steelers I'd give this lout his walking papers, stat.

Feel free to take all of the PC sentiments and stick them where the sun don't shine.
This man has never been charged, much less convicted of a crime. He is guilty of poor judgment,
if that were a crime God-ell would have to suspend 1/2 the league!

Looking back on old internet blogs this behavior trait appears prevalent in his college days, long before he wrecked his motorcycle on the streets of Pittsburgh.

I was wondering about that. If all this behavior is uncharacteristic of him, it could be related to the head trauma of the accident. But you are saying that in your research, you found this pattern of behavior prior to the accident. It still could be that the head trauma has worsened his condition. Not making excuses for anything - just bringing up another thing to consider. I know someone personally who was hit by a truck and in a coma for a few weeks. When he woke up his personality was totally changed.

Roethlisberger is not originally from Pittsburgh, did not go to school here and spends a lot of time in Georgia, so while he plays here, he is not "from" Pittsburgh. Pittsburghers, who by and large are family-oriented, are aghast at his horrible behavior and many (if not most) want him traded. Now, where are YOU from, so I can expect the same profane and stereotyping behavior from everyone I meet from YOUR hometown?

Yeah, he fits right in to parts of rural Georgia. Good ol' Boy Ben keeps a-hopin' that they will do a remake of Deliverance and he can live out his secret fantasy of reprising actor Bill McKinney's part as the hillbilly who "does" Ned Beatty's 'Bobby."

As a Steeler fan this is very upsetting to me. I think if Ben were to be traded to another team it would only be then that he understood how bad he f***ed up.
The best attitude adjuster I fell would be for the fans in Pitt. to have him over for a chat. To clarify a few things for him.
I think though this story would be news everyday. We don't hear them because other people play Prima Dona smarter than others by hiring a "fixer" who provides cost containment services as well as seeing the bar tab is paid in full with tip. But...

"We should trade him to another band."
"No, he's an ass**** he should never play again."
"Shut up."
"What do you mean you are dumping me, you are dumping me?"
"Are you high?"
"Yes, but we're still dumping you."
"Why?"
"Well you haven't been paying your bar tab."
"Ha, ha ha."
"And there is other stuff too."
"Such as?"
"You just shouldn't be shooting heroin on stage."

Toxic Twins or no we will never be able to rid ourselves of Aerosmith or David Lee Roth, EVER!
Anybody that throws millions of dollars in the lap of 20 year olds and expects all of them to all act with the wisdom of a sage is dumber than dust. That includes major sports teams.

I'm as disgusted as anyone with Ben's behavior, but this SI article is just garbage. Grabbing random sources to find out that he didn't pay a bill and was chased down in the parking lot to pay up. Aren't there bigger allegations here? This article comes off as high school gossip. I'm not saying it doesn't add to his scumbag/arrogant image, but it's just such lazy journalism.

did you feel this way when your all went after Tiger Woods? traid to another team? whell that should streighten him out.

To be honest i think the quality of sports reporting has really diminished in recent years. ESPN has become the TMZ more than a "sports" network. It annoys me when i can't turn on ESPN with out being told about what Big Ben is up to or how Tiger Woods is trying to reclaim his image
03:34 PM on 05/06/2010
Big Ben is a reaaaaaaal winner...the Steelers need to dump him asap...
