Greenpeace activists responded to the Gulf oil spill by taking their opposition to the oil industry straight to the Capitol, where they demonstrated for clean energy reform this afternoon. The activists outfitted oil rig replicas with placards of big oil companies, from BP and Exxon to Shell and Halliburton, and held up replicas of wind turbines. The rigs and turbines flanked a sign with their message, demanding a "Clean Energy Future NOW."

Greenpeace is not alone is using the environmental disaster as an impetus for action on clean energy. MoveOn released an ad urging President Obama to reinstate the ban on offshore drilling earlier this week.
