I always said that the first defense against stress was deep breathing, and it still is, but concurrently another most important defense against stress, pollution, toxins, free radicals and so on is having sufficient glutathione. 1) Burn incense. Not only does aromatherapy reduce stress, but burning sandal wood (most incense is made with sandal wood) allows more oxygen to cross the blood-brain barrier, essentially giving you a high off of oxygen.
2) Learn to draw, paint, and write creatively. This reduces stress in several ways. Not only will you learn to draw, paint, and/or write creatively, but you'll also develop better concentration and tap into your brain's right-hemisphere. The right-hemisphere of your brain isn't aware or stressed out by the passage of time, so it's a very relieving experience. Meditation also taps into this area.
I recommend that you at least read "Drawing on the Right-side of your Brian" by Betty Edwards. This book is a great read, even if you never want to become an artist. I also recommend "On Writing" by Stephen King, for those who want to try out creative writing.
3) Learn to concentrate. This short of goes along with tip #2. Multitasking, distractions, and loss of concentration all lead to stress, and even Attention-Deficient Trait (ADT). Learning to focus on what you're doing will leave you more time in your day, and reduce enormous amounts of stress.
Keep in mind, though, that these are tips in addition to the ones mentioned above. Tip #2 (Exercise, Sleep, Nutrition) is a must follow, an would be number one if I were making a list.
