Craig Ferguson Mocks Leno (VIDEO): 'Late Late Show' Host Jokes About Jay

Jay Leno's move back to the "Tonight Show" may have earned him better ratings, but fallout from his decision to replace Conan O'Brien doesn't seem to have won him any fans among his colleagues.

CBS "Late Late Show Host" Craig Ferguson made fun of Leno last Thursday.

Describing an out of place joke as a "Leno joke," Ferguson burst into a nonsensical impression of the NBC host. Crazy eyes and gibberish summed up Ferguson's lashing.

In January, before NBC confirmed their intentions to bring Leno back to the Tonight Show, Ferguson weighed in on the situation and described both O'Brien and Leno as "nice guys."

The reason I liked Craig was because his humor was clean and not dissing anyone and now he turns around and makes fun of my best comedian on TV. That's low, because Leno is doing really good and kicking their butts in ratings, so now everyone from the woodworks is attacking Leno...puleeeze....

If you think Jay Leno is a quality comedian, you have no idea what he was like in 1979. He used to be a truly innovative, unique, interesting comedian. But he watered down, diluted, and destroyed his brand of comedy into a bland mixture of safe puns, bad impressions, awful characters, stolen materials and hackneyed bits. It was an attempt to appeal to the broadest range of demographics possible. And it works, if your only goal is ratings. But ratings don't validate anything, and don't verify value. Larry the Cable Guy sells out 5,000 seat halls nightly, but Dan Whitney is correctly reviled by most people as horrible. If 295 million people can see you for what you are, but 5 million get fooled into liking you, that makes you a "success". Even though less than 2% like you, and more than 98% see through you, you can ride that 5 million like Paul Revere.

Not to mention Leno has stabbed so many people in the back by being a slimy, cowardly, sleazeball when it came to the business side of the industry, the only people who give him the time of day are those who either owe him a favor or get a paycheck from him. He is reviled in the comedy world outside the couple of guys from his distant past that don't hate him out of loyalty.

I really love craig... Truly hilarious. His only weakness is that its the same schtick every night - without some ingenuity or a new sketch or whatever from time to time it does get a bit predictable in boring. But it it is still a funny sort of boring: I still love every minute.

Craig is really funny. I think his monologue is about 1/3 written material and the rest is him just riffing. I have to agree with poster 'disgustedwithall' that his act is a bit too much the same every night. It would be nice if he were to mix it up a bit more. And he needs to be a better interviewer, but he is very funny.

He works from an outline on the TelePrompter that lists the topics he wants to cover, and ad libs most of the monologue.
When he sits at the desk for the second segment of the show, he's completely free-styling.

Craig is OK, good humor but getting to be to much of same night after night..needs to change parts as getting to predictable.. great humor, but now becoming a bit on boring side. Watch it a bit less each week.

Lighten up people, there late nite Comedians, they make a living off of cracking jokes in front of a TV audience that's ready for Bed. If you don't like it, turn the channel, or better yet turn it off.
