Erin Toll Suing Boss Barbara Kelley
The Denver Post:
After nearly two months on paid leave from her job as head of the state's real estate division, Erin Toll has filed a lawsuit claiming her boss, Barbara Kelley, has violated her constitutional right to freedom of speech and failed to comply with Colorado's open-record laws.
When Toll was placed on leave March 16, Kelley prohibited her from talking with her colleagues or the news media. Kelley, executive director of the Department of Regulatory Affairs, also prohibited Toll from entering the office building where the Division of Real Estate is located and from testifying before the state legislature, according to the lawsuit, filed Friday afternoon in Denver District Court.
