I can't hear you. Did you pay taxes in this country? If not, you belong in Arizona and deserve to be treated like they want to treat illegal aliens. Again, how much did you pay in American taxes?

Too bad.... loyalty to the countries that allow you to be what you are is more important than PROFITS!

Might cost 35 billion

BP made 500 billion. Let these Corporate Coup d'etat participants lose a little biz in Iran. They can make it up in, say, burma or north korea.

This is the basic problem with our form of Govt. The tail wags the dog. Our Corporations are for short term profits. Govt has to project a little further down the road. Conventional wisdom, and lobbying efforts, usually ensures that the Corporations will win. There is a new ideology brewing in the emerging markets, where there is more co operation between the two entities. The profits are not as fast, but it is more sustainable. Yhe least we should do is have a look at the model, and not arrogantly dismiss it, because it did not come from us.

The issue is we do not want American military going around the world protecting our access to oil. Because we don't want the thousands of deaths and tens of thousands of lifelong injuries that preclude many 'wounded warriors" from being able to work at a good paying job when they return.

Quite frankly, judging by the model we're using now, there ain't no job to come back to, And I don't see it getting better if we stay on the same trajectory. We have to try something new.

Looks to me like the USA wants their cake and eat it, too! With all those ships going to Israel loaded with ammo, I am thinking sooner or later we will have that war as well. The media is pushing for it with lies about Iran's nukes, which they only want nuclear energy and a nuke free Middle East, but that is not in our papers. We have to dupe people and gear up for the next war.
Why else would we ship all that ammo to Israel?

The IAEA, funded by the UN, must have been infiltrated. What else could explain the IAEA saying that "The IAEA Board of Governors has found Iran in non-compliance with its NPT safeguards agreement."

For my own part, I think that Iran wants to go up to the point of having a weapon, but stop short of testing one. It wants to be just like Israel and for the very same reasons. "Mess with us, and see what happens!"

You are on to it. I read an article where we put that El Baradei in to office. He is beholden to the USA and of course, will just repeat anything he has been told. Iran long ago said they will help Europe with nuke energy since the Russians always have a problem with delivery due to infighting. Ahmendinejad may be a bad person but he did announce that he wants a nuke free ME.

Let's see here: hurt sales or possible damage to America?
These clowns need to figure out who's side they are on and when they do, the American people will finally understand why we are in such a mess right now.

Exxon's profits are more important than sanctioning Iran? Its OK for Iran to get nuclear weapons to protect Exxon's profits? How about Exxon pays taxes to the American government first and then we tell them to f___ off?

Make sure you vote for someone who agrees with you on this - if you can find one running. If not, recruit somebody who agrees with you and don't vote for the lesser of evils

So what? They shouldn't be selling to our adversaries anyway; not Iran at least. Boeing may suffer, especially if it loses that bid for the Tanker contract. But do I feel sorry ExxonMobil? Are you f(&*ckin kidding me?

U.S. foreign and economic policies seem to be up-side down. We provide free aid to Israel, Egypt and Jordan, and then impose sanctions on a country who is in an excellent position for lucrative business contracts with the U.S. With or without sanctions the rest of the world will continue its business relationships with Iran. The only companies hurt will be the U.S. at a time when our economy is in such a mess. Do our politiicians have any clue what they are doing?

I say Exxon and Boeing go for it, don't listen to the fools.

Good point. It seems to me, it's more about "petrol-dollars", then it is about "threats to democracies". Saving grace, that America can't seem to do anything these days, without stepping in her own poo. This to will fail. Blowback nation, indeed.

these sanctions only serves Israeli interests. It hurts American businesses and does nothing to stop Iran's nuclear program. Are Americans getting punked? I think so.

I would like to invite Boeing and Exxon CEOs for a nice trip to Evin prison in Iran where people are beaten, raped, tortured and hanged. You may lose a little of your appetite for cash.
04:22 PM on 05/14/2010
You are deluded. Sanctions do not curb Iran's nuclear ambitions and it certainly wont stop them oppressing their people If anything things will get much worse. (Look at Saddam's Iraq and the effects of sanctions before we went to war)

The whole embargo on Iran is BS! EU, Canada, heck the rest of the world is trading with Iran except the US and the UK. And guess what, that also means economic independence from the US which also means that they can do and say whatever they want about us without the fear to hurt the relationship. Intensive trade forces countries to live in peace with each other in order to protect their economic stability. It is that simple.

fanned Emucratic . . . you are so right especially about this: " Intensive trade forces countries to live in peace with each other in order to protect their economic stability. It is that simple."

Does this mean that trading with Nazi Germany would have been fine too? How far does your 'economic stability' factor into your moral values? Blood money is blood money, no matter what color glasses you wear.

Blood money? Do you actually think that Iranian companies and the government have more blood on their hands than the US?

Cheney was trading with Iran through Halliburton when he was VP, Dubai lives from commerce with Iran- the whole sanctions issue is a SHAM... and the protest of these CEO's patently proves it.
