Sarah Palin Gives Nod To Jane Norton As "Commonsense, Conservative Woman"

Palin

At a fundraiser on Friday, Sarah Palin counted Colorado Senatorial candidate Jane Norton, among a list of "commonsense, conservative" female candidates whom the former Alaska Governor considers like a "sister."

Palin's praise could be a sign of a future endorsement of Norton, who has struggled to claim the conservative mantle in the race for the GOP Senate nomination.

Norton's opponent, Ken Buck, has gained the support of right-wing tea party groups, as well as many formidable national conservative organizations. Most notably, Jim DeMint, the South Carolina Senator and leader of the conservative "anti-Washington" movement, has publicly endorsed Buck over Norton.

In a GOP primary that figures to hinge largely on who can successfully appeal to the party's right, a endorsement from Palin, a conservative icon, could be a tremendous boost for Norton.

Speaking in front of the Susan B. Anthony's List, a group that seeks to elect women opposed to abortion rights, Palin singled out several female Republican candidates who she called "mama grizzlies" for their support of gun rights and opposition to abortion.

The Republican primaries will be held August 10.

This is pretty funny. Someone in my family works closely with Norton, and she says that Jane wishes Sarah Palin would "just dissappear." Somehow I don't think the feeling is mutual, Sarah.

Seems she's just choosing on a gender basis now.
sigh
Not that any of her choices have ever been made with sensible criteria before.

Uh Sarah? No very many people actually CARE who you endorse or what you think or say. Luckily for you, the ones that do, are willing to give you $$.
The rest of us? Sorry. WAY not interested.

stops short of endorsement, stops short of finishing her term, stops short of graduating from four other colleges, stops short of not writing on her hand...

Sorry folks, Jane Norton doesn't even have 3000 friends in Colorado on her Facebook page. Yes, she has been our lieutenant governor, and advocated for health care. When she worked for Bush, there was some kind of flap that I can't recall or find any reference to. Whatever it was has been buried deep.

But consider this: In spite of holding various state and federal offices, she can not count 3000 Colorado Republicans to support her, and the Palin support is the kiss of death.

As a Denverite, I hope you're right.

Jane Norton is a John McCain Republican. She had to bypass the Assembly because she would not get enough delegate votes and had to get on the ballot by petition. Ken Buck is the real conservative.

Norton is a slug, thinks insurance shouldnt cover cancer because there are different cancers for men and women. What a complete idi0t. It is fitting that the twit would almost endorse her, Norton is almost human, not quite but almost.

With the prestigious power of Palin behind her, Ms. Norton is a sure winner. Feminism & family values are now one & the same, thanks to Gov. Sarah.

Hey! You'd better pay attention to her! She's going to be the next President of the Southern States following Jefferson Davis.

"So Sarah Palin is a super lady, but I sure hope she doesn't endorse Jane Norton".

Another reason not to follow this guy on twitter.

Can any Palin supporter give one good reason, just one, why she would be suitable for the presidency? Note: Shallow, rote talking point reasons don't count. Is there a substantive reason in your opinion why she would make a good president? Caution: Fact Check in effect.

"Shallow, rote talking point reasons don't count."

You stumped them!

If it doesn't fall out of Glenn Beck's mouth or appear on a sickeningly misspelled protest sign, it's more than they can handle.
