Charlie Sheen Signs Mega 'Two And A Half Men' Return Deal

Charlie Sheen Two And A Half Men

LOS ANGELES — CBS and fans of "Two and a Half Men" don't have to fret about subtracting Charlie Sheen from TV's top-rated sitcom.

Sheen has agreed to a new contract that will keep him on the show for two more seasons, spokesman Stan Rosenfield said Monday evening after the deal was reached.

"To put a fitting end on the 2 1/2 months of whirlwind speculation, I'm looking forward to returning to my CBS home on Monday nights," Sheen, 44, said in a statement, adding his thanks to CBS Corp. Chief Executive Leslie Moonves for his support.

Uncertainty had clouded Sheen's future with the series after he told friends that he wanted to leave after seven years because he'd tired of its production demands and wanted to focus on movies. He's in the upcoming film "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," a sequel to the 1987 "Wall Street" in which he starred.

Subsequent reports said that he was holding out for a payday of up to $2 million per sitcom episode. CBS and Sheen had declined comment on the reports, and Sheen's statement did not provide details of the new agreement.

A call to CBS for comment was not immediately returned Monday.

"Two and a Half Men," which also stars Jon Cryer, is a key part of CBS' Monday night lineup. Last year, the network gave the show a 3-year renewal, through the 2011-12 season, although Sheen's contract was up at the end of the current season.

Meanwhile, the actor's personal life remains unsettled. He has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a Christmas Day incident in Aspen, Colo., of alleged domestic violence involving his wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen. Sheen faces a July 21 jury trial in Colorado.

He entered a rehab facility for undisclosed treatment in February, temporarily forcing "Two and a Half Men" to halt production. CBS and series producer Warner Bros. Television issued a statement of support when Sheen sought treatment and wished him well.

This is a great show and am happy that it will remain intact. We watch the show every day; but I've been skipping a lot this season's shows because I agree with many of the comments--Get Rid of Chelsea! Depressing to see Charlie so whipped after all his years of womanizing.

John Cryer is excellent as 'second banana' and I absolutely love the housekeeper, Berta. I do think they've 'dumbed down' the Jake character too much tho. All-in-all, funny to watch the extreme side of life with these guys.

Charlie Sheen claims he's made it with 5000 women. Let's see I'm 15 years older than him and He's boffed 4872 more women than me. DAMN !!! now I'm depressed.

Seriously...do guys really count the women they bed? 10 or 20, ok...I can see that because you can still put a name with a face. Past that, you probably aren't even bothering to get their name...just bedding them for bragging rights. If you're 15 years older than him you are definitely too old to be bragging about your conquests. Do you still wrestle your male friends? pop towels in the locker room? tell your buddies you nailed the most beautiful woman at work (when she doesn't even know your name)?

how on earth did the apple fall so far from the tree?

This is a horrible joke. There is only reason to make more episodes of this series: so that Charlie and a handful of CBS execs will get even richer.

The public airwaves should not be an ATM for rich Dorks.

Excuse me Dan 123 I think there's a mispelling in your comments. It's spelled with an ic not an or.

The show is fantastic and we'll be glad to see it go on for a couple more years. Yes, let's hope Charlie gets rid of this Chelsea chick. He already has the correct lifestyle. Marriage=Divorce=men get screwed out of everything they've worked for. Stay single and do what you want--that is the proper lifestyle. Jake is a good kid, and obviously not 30--people need to calm down. Cryer is great as the wacky brother/dad. Sheen exemplifies how we should all be living right now.

This is the only watchable show on network TV. Even cable doesn't have much. We are overpaying for garbage. Only good stuff on TV is college sports on ESPN, some cable channels, and PBS. Network TV is awful, and now that Conan has gone to TBS, Two and a Half Men is network TV's only bright spot.

this is one of the only shows left on tv that can make you laugh. the supporting cast are the glue....I can't imagine the show without the brother and the maid.

If Charlie Sheen can demand that kind of money and get it............I say kudo's.

Seems like they're aiming to end the show right when Jake heads off to college... perfect. Now get rid of Chelsea and let the good times roll!

Best sitcom ever.

Sorry, but no one is worth that. No one. Disgusting. Unless it's someone who can absolutely guarantee a utopia on earth. Buh, bye, 2 1/2.

This is nothing. Turn on ESPN sometime if you really want to be disgusted.

What is the point of 2 million/episode? Once you have some millions, isn't there a certain point when more millions is just like adding extra life sentences. Pointless?

we may not like it but if the guy can command 2m an episode he is hardly a has been. The show is number 1 rated for years now and he IS the star of the show. Having said that, I think he's a spoiled rich brat that has had it made from birth.

If you can't get that crazy cash I say good for you. I guess I am in the minority who believes this show has been unwatchable. I have honestly tried to get why it's so popular and I can't figure it out. All he does is bang chicks in every episode. There is little substance in the show and it's not funny. Sheen and Cryer have the chemistry of amonia and bleech.
