Companies' Social Media Savvy: Top 50 Most 'Social' Firms (CHART)

Huffington Post     First Posted: 05/18/10 04:28 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 05:30 PM ET

NetProspex have tracked social media usage by the firms' employees to develop a ranking of the 50 most "social" companies.

The infographic offers some additional information, as well. For example, they've measured what social networks are most popular among the employees of the US's largest companies (LinkedIn comes out ahead of Facebook, and just 3% of employees belong to Twitter).

Check out the NetProspex rankings below. See a full size version of the chart here.

There are some companies on these lists that (in my experience) are not very active on social media sites. So I was surprised. Notes on the amended chart indicate that the lists were developed by using social media usage figures from all the people in the company. Wasn't it difficult to collect so much detailed information from so many people? Or was there some averaging or extrapolation? In any case, for me, the lists are interesting but raise more questions than they answer.

The report has nothing to do with Social Media Savvy, nor does it indicate social media usage of employees.
