NEW YORK — Demi Moore wants to tell her story.

Moore's agent, Luke Janklow, confirmed Monday that the actress is working on a memoir and is meeting with publishers in New York. He declined to comment further.

The 47-year-old Moore is known for her work in the films "Ghost" and "A Few Good Men." In 1991, she posed naked and pregnant on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine.

Moore has three daughters with former husband Bruce Willis. She married Ashton Kutcher in 2005.

My guess is that the few "negative comments" I saw here were posted by people who are under 30 (or so). Sadly, Demi has not acted much during the past decade...and so those who are a bit younger may just know her as this "famous woman" who happens to be married to Kutcher.

From what I remember of Demi's life...it has been pretty intriguing. Family issues (her mom posing nude for some pretty explicit magazines?). Hollywood ups & downs. Leaving to raise kids, etc. I also think she's a darned good actress--which usually got overlooked in all of the hype about her looks and how much money she made. [Even that old Will & Grace guest appearance was very funny--she showed a real flair for comedy.]

I wish Demi would find the courage to go off and take some roles in indy films for the sake of exploring what she is capable of doing as an actress. I suspect she is capable of great things if she's challenged (and has good material/direction). Who cares if she ever does another "blockbuster" movie. In fact, I think her story--biography or autobiography--would be 100 times more fascinating if she were to summon the courage to take the plunge...and become a real ACTRESS. In fact, one role (even a tiny one) in which Demi shows how good she can be without looking beautiful...and it will be a game-changer (externally AND internally).

For the life of me I cannot imagine why anyone outside of her family would be interested in hearing what she has to say.
