My parents had me reading stories by Robert Munsch in the mid-80s when I was 2 - 5 years old growing up in Hamilton, Ontario. Not only did he teach me how to read but he taught me many important life lessons thanks to his wonderful stories.

I saw the 16:9 interview with Robert and his family over the weekend on Global TV and I was amazed by his story of addiction. I wish the man who helped give me the gift of reading nothing but the best during his battle with addiction and bi-polar disorder.

Robert, 20+ years later you still have yourself a big fan and admirer.

Great writers do not have to be great people and the books should be judged on their merits. Contrary to the belief of the moral police an addiction should not be considered a crime but a serious health issue.
