Amanda Seyfried: My Soft Parts Are Never Going Away
Amanda Seyfried has previously talked about how much work it is for her to stay thin and now she covers Self magazine, inside talking about her body and swearing off the raw food diet and crazy exercise regimens. Seyfried is promoting her new movie, 'Letters to Juliet.' Here are some excerpts from the interview:
On obsessive exercising:
"I used to live, eat and sleep by an exercise schedule, and I couldn't enjoy myself if I didn't exercise. And then I realized, What a waste of time! My soft parts are probably never going away."
"I mean, at the end of the day, if you can't have a Girl Scout cookie and a piece of cheese, what is life all about?"
On body image:
"People may seem perfect, but that's because they spend thousands on trainers and diets and surgeries. If you have a negative body image, exercise, but not for your appearance. The main thing you can change is how you perceive yourself. Stop looking in the mirror and realize that you're living for yourself, not other people."
On dealing with the blues:
"Well, first, for immediate gratification, eat some Ben & Jerry's Phish Food. Then call someone who knows you. Not everybody is blessed with great parents, but I'll call my best friend or sister or mother and get perspective. The things in your life that you usually enjoy aren't supposed to make you more sad than not."
