Lionel Rivera Makes Olbermann's 'Worst Persons' List For Homelessness Comments

Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera probably didn't envision being the butt of cable news jokes when he agreed to an interview with Denver Post columnist Susan Greene for Sunday's paper. But that's exactly what happened after he defended the rejection of $43 million in federal funding by arguing that "some people want the homeless life."

The eyebrow-raising comment was enough to earn Rivera second billing on Keith Olbermann's "Worst Persons In The World" segment Tuesday night.

"How could a mayor be that heartless toward his own city's homeless?" Olbermann quipped. "Well, he's also a financial advisor."
