Texas big man Dexter Pittman is amid the most impactful days of his professional basketball career, with the NBA Draft coming up in a little over a month. But basketball is taking a back seat for Pittman now. Pittman was at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago when his 16-year-old brother Darius Johnson was shot and killed in Houston Thursday night.

This is extremely sad. I heard the sirens and saw the helicopter that night in my neighborhood. I had no idea what was going on. I remember seeing Darius around the neighborhood growing into a young man. I knew him & know one of his sisters. I will be at the memorial service at the Berry Center. May The Most High Yah (God) comfort the family. In the name of Yahshuah/Jesus.

Tragic and painful time for Dexter Pittman and his family. Dexter has contributed much to the youth community of Austin since coming to The University of Texas. He often spoke of his brother and family. He understood he had an important responsibility as college athelete to be a good example for youth everywhere. Peace to Dexter's brother and the entire Pittman family.

Yes they do. It is too easy to pull a trigger. At least in a fist fight you have time between punches to think about what is happening. One you pull the trigger, it's a done deal. So sad.
