Jesse James On Nightline: I Threw My Amazing Marriage Away (VIDEO)

NEW YORK -- Jesse James says he took an amazing life and threw it all away.

The estranged husband of Oscar winner Sandra Bullock gave his first television interview to ABC's "Nightline," scheduled to air Tuesday. ABC says in a brief excerpt released Friday that James publicly apologized to Bullock and his three children for cheating on her.

When asked by ABC's Vicki Mabrey whether he was the most hated man in America for cheating on "America's sweetheart," James said hated man in the world is probably more like it.

The tattooed biker and host of "Monster Garage" says he "took an amazing life and amazing success and marriage ... and threw it away by my own hands."

This seems really lame, like the newest way for him to get attention. This guy has kids and has been a very irresponsible dad, and I just don't see that he is putting them first yet, or why would he be doing this?

Most hated man in the world? Love how he made himself a victim by that statement. We can now feel badly him because he is so hated all over the world. Not only did Jesse throw away his marriage, he also included his credibility with that batch. It might take awhile before folks begin caring what he has to say about any topic, much less that which he is known for.

Breakups are always difficult. Be it for the kids, the family or extended version of such. The end shot is that when two people who care for each other, start messing with that critical TRUST issue, well everything begins to crumble. I hope for the best whether it is the child that Jesse had with another mother (that is currently living with Sandra) or the family...everyone suffers.

These kinds of stories are so terribly sad...

Consequences.

I think we've finally grown up when we learn to consider the consequences before we do things that would hurt the people we love. Maybe this will finally cause Jesse to grow up. Let's hope so; his life will be more beautiful for it.
