Download Google Pacman: How To Still Play Without Google Doodle

Download Google Pacman

The playable Google Pacman doodle on Google.com was taken down today, but you can still play the game if you download it.

Several sites say they have Google Pacman for download, but be careful because some sites aren't reliable.

However, this download on MediaFire appears to work. It provides a ZIP file, a folder called GooglePacman with everything you need, complete with a ReadMe file and simple HTML page you can open to play the game.

The Google Pacman doodle commemorated Pacman's 30th anniversary on May 22, and it was up on the Google site from Friday until this morning.

You play the game simply by clicking "Insert Coin" and if you insert a second coin you can play with Ms. Pacman too.

UPDATE (4:45 p.m.): Google has now made the game permanently available at http://www.google.com/pacman. Thanks to Flash604 for the tip in the comments below.

I love the game but anyone find the sound too annoying?

Keeps catching me by surprise on my work computer... argh!

Here is a no-sound version. Looks like it can be hosted on other websites too.

Funny, when I go to the site it loads fine but my laptop's fan goes bonkers..lol. Yeah, I'd say the refresh rate is up there.

I knew the Google Pacman "doodle" wouldn't be up forever, but something that clever deserves a little extra time in the limelight. I am glad to see that Google has put the playable Pacman version of their logo in a permanent spot ( http://www.google.com/pacman )

It's not Flash, which means it will actually show up on many portable devices that don't do Flash. But don't get your hopes up - the refresh rate is murder and unless you have some way to emulate input of the keyboard cursor keys you won't be able to do much than watch. Watching the game refresh a frame every couple of seconds on my Nintendo DSi was more than I could handle.

Pac-man may be permanently posted online with Google, but what about for those who have no internet connection? Yes there are folders you can download and adobe flash players to configure so you can have sound, but there is a totally easier way. As long as you don't mind a torrent file as I have no other recourse to share it! It is under 1 MB in size.

I’ve got (so far, as far as I know) the only installable offline version of Google Pac-man with sound working 100%, no tricks, and I’ve removed everything that is not the game itself. The game’s background is now black, and I’ve put it into an installer which uses a portable browser to host the sound properly. It’s in torrent form because I don’t know anyone to help me host it, but here is a link to my (absolutely guaranteed clean) torrent at TPB:

http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5585343/Google_Pac-man_30th_B-Day_%28sound_working_100_%29

(copy/paste the above into your address bar)

..any questions or if you’re willing to host this thing please contact me at:

blackwidowfarms (at) hotmail.com

or email me directly from my website:

I’m not one of the devs that are trying to take advantage or trick anyone lol I just wanna share this awesome Google Pacman in a form anyone can install and use... whether they have an internet connection or not. thx! :)
