Marc Emery, 'Prince Of Pot,' Pleads Guilty To Conspiracy Charge

05/24/10 07:25 PM ET   AP

Prince Of Pot Marc Emery

SEATTLE — Canada's so-called Prince of Pot has pleaded guilty to a drug charge in exchange for a five-year prison term.

Marc Emery appeared in U.S. District Court in Seattle on Monday after being extradited last week from Vancouver, British Columbia. He sold millions of marijuana seeds to U.S. customers before his arrest in 2005.

He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to manufacture marijuana in exchange for an agreed sentence of five years in prison. He is to be sentenced in August, and prosecutors or Emeray may withdraw from the plea deal if the judge issues a different sentence.

Marc Emery sold only the seeds and he is a Canadian citizen, how come he becomes a guilty person in the United States?

Bush’s Department gave us the 12 million dollar 2 year sting to entrap Tommy Chong.

Obama nominates M. Leonhart, a blind ideologue with a record of lying. During her time as deputy administrator she helped block all medical research for cannabinoid medicines.

Cops, lawyers & Presidents preventing doctors from curing sick people ..hmm

Now we pay to jail Emery who, technically, never broke a U.S. law & In our blind obsession we flippantly disregard any process of our own laws. I am shocked Canada gave him up & wonder what illegal deal our justice dprtmnt gave to facilitate this extradition.

In the end, it is you & I who pays. We pay the salaries of the cops & lawyers involved in this decade long project to wag our finger. We pay the prison guards to watch him.

All these tax beneficiaries lie in an effort to make us think we need them to police marijuana, & the people who use it. Still, any of us can Google ‘marijuana seeds’ & have them delivered to our doorsteps in 2 business days from a myriad of retailers who are legally (in thier countries) doing exactly what Marc did. How long can we remain this naive?

When is enough, enough? Tell your local reps to decline Leonharts nomination before the end of 2010

Legalize!

Marc Emery is a "New Being" simple as that. Like many new beings of the past and future he represents the new consciouness that is evolving on Earth. Some other New Beings are (were)
The Beatles, Paul Watson, Bono, George Carlin, Bill Maher, JFK, Richard Dawkins, Barack Obama, Walt Disney, Bono, Angelina Jolie and many many more. They stand for what's right and good and need our support. If all the "New Beings" on the Earth stood up gathered their strength as "One" voice then we could say no to the wrongness of the World and replace it with the Right. Join the one at thenewbeings.com. It's time for a change.

Marc Emery is a political prisoner. Canada should not have allowed his extradition.

It goes without saying the USA is not exactly a country that is overly concerned with civil liberties or human rights, reaching even into other countries to prosecute the "War on Our Families". I hope the USA is challenged in this matter, but it doesn't look like it will happen.

"It goes without saying the USA is not exactly a country that is overly concerned with civil liberties or human rights..."

Yes we're so unconcerned about civil liberties and human rights that we're letting China cut our throat in Africa by offering the same cash but without any strings attached.

I never claimed the USA was unconcerned with the civil liberties of cash and corporations, just of human beings. We owe China, after all.

Please give credit where credit is due - it is thanks to Obama and his administration that the DEA has stopped going after the people who produce/sell/consume marijuana legally (in accordance state regulations, in those states that have such regulations)

"War on Drugs" = "War on the People" Legalize it.

This is nothing more than a political prosecution a complete waste of our money and time. The Judge does not have to give him the five years he can and should give him probation. We should legalize the use of marijuana now. A few years ago the NYT did and article and said it is the larges cash crop in America I doubt that has changed. Legalize it & tax it this way our Prosecutors can actually move on to fight some real crime.

Legalize it , and stick it in the tank. No "spills" no global warming. We are idiots for allowing our government to allow BIG OIL to make HEMP illegal. Thats all it is folks , the oil companies buying our government as far back as making hemp illegal. The @!#% constitution is written on hemp. Drink , smoke , but not pot. Gag, this is an insult to human evolution to continue " the war on drugs" . At one time it was required for US citizens to grow hemp. We are sheeple ,bah !!

What an absolute shame...The conservatives in Canada throw this man under the bus for selling SEEDS!!! and our government continues with the charade...sickening
08:01 AM on 05/25/2010
This is just stupid. Legalize marijuana already and start reaping the benefits of taxing it. Supply and demand, very simple.

This sounds like a good idea. Most of our pot is grown in the U.S. already, why give the Narcos a source of income? Now can we appoint a proper regulatory board so that legal marijuana cigarettes won't have all those chemicals added to it that tobacco cigarettes do?

Oh, the irony of it all!

BP thugs and eco-terrorists kill 11 men, many more will die from respiratory complications, and the Gulf of Madness is an ecological disaster.

So we are going to waste taxpayer money to prosecute and imprison a pot dealer.

This is an upside down country.

Wake up America!

Added to that ICE is considering not processing deportation orders for illegals identified under SB 1070.

One level of government refusing to do it's job then trying to foil a lower level of government for picking up the slack!
