Homeless At Hopeville Camp Desperate For Water In Hot Weather

In a St.Louis encampment of homeless people known as Hopeville, water resources are becoming scarce as summer heat bares down on the community. The area offers portable toilets and grills for cooking, and the community members must adhere to rules, but the summer heat waves pose new problems for the homeless living in the tents.

Volunteers from the New Life Evangelistic Center are working to provide food and water to Hopeville residents, but as the encampment grows, the organization is struggling to keep up with the growing demand. St. Louis residents are encouraged to bring donations of bottled water to the center, to be distributed to the homeless.

KPLR reports from Hopeville.
