Michaele And Tareq Salahi, Accused State Dinner Party Crashers, Crash Letterman Monologue (VIDEO)

First Posted: 05/26/10 07:13 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:35 PM ET

Michaele and Tareq Salahi, the couple accused of crashing a White House state dinner in 2009, made it past CBS security Tuesday and appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" during Letterman's monologue.

In what was obviously a planned appearance, the D.C. couple waltzed out onto Letterman's stage and, without saying a word, posed for photos with the host before a waiting crowd of faux-paparazzi. After a few seconds of flashbulbs and silence, the couple walked off.

WATCH:

During a White House state dinner for Mexico last week, the Salahis were spotted near the White House. With a camera crew in tow, the couple said that it was "an unbelievable coincidence" that they were there during another state dinner. The pair are still under federal investigation for their first state dinner appearance.

Earlier Tuesday, the Salahis appeared on The Today Show and again refuted that they had crashed the party.

I think this bit is really funny. How could any American citizen be 'trespassing' in the WH? We own it, don't we? And the last time I checked, crashing a party was rude but not actionable.

Isn't there an asylum somewhere, where we could house the Salahis? I am sick of these two non-talents invading my t.v. and internet space. I pay to have my home sprayed every couple of years to rid it of pests. What can we do about these couple of frauds?

Wow, I'm really disapointed in Letterman that he would encourage these fame prostitutes.

Agree. They were on the Today Show as well, immediately changed the station. They are just feeding this couples' sensationalist addiction.

Include me in the disappointed group. Very disappointed in anyone who gives them attention.

So this is another couple that should be given 15 min of fame. Thanks for the warning HuffPuff.

Why do those two annoy me so much! They remind me of kids in school who would do stupid things just to get attention. I thought I didn't have to endure this anymore.

They ought to be in jail, but instead the media chooses to pile on exactly the type of attention they crave and thrive on. Ridiculous.

So it was a publicity stunt?

I honestly don't get why Dave would have them on his show...

Boycott any program or network that gives these two losers any attention.

(From the video above, she does have the tramp pose down pat and he desperately needs a new rug.)

Agreed.

Huff Po is pushing them far too eagerly for my taste.

There were 2 articles last week, one was a phoney appology and one was a complete piece of Huff Po garbage with a headline like "salahis found near white house" and then discussed that they were filming a promo for their new show.

Serously!!! Why are you letting these people on TV???? Shouldn't their punishment at least be that they get no further attention from us. I have been a long time fan of David Letterman, but this lowered my opinion of him a couple of notches. I am way more disappointed in him for this than I ever was about his affair.
