Curfew Violators Will Go To Park Fieldhouses: 'Not As Intimidating' As Police Stations

Chicago's annual summer curfew crackdown has a new and more lenient twist this year: Instead of being slapped with citations and hauled off to the police station, violators in three high-crime districts will be taken to Park District fieldhouses.

The idea is to connect the youths with recreational programs, social services, mentors and community organizations that offer "positive alternatives" to just hanging out on the streets.
