Julia Gnuse, Guinness Most Tattooed Woman In The World: 'I Like To Make People Happy' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 05/28/10 11:47 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:35 PM ET

Julia Gnuse is the most tattooed woman in the world with 95 percent of her body covered in ink. She says, "My most favorite is Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz and I have the full chocolate scene on my back, on the lower part of my back." She got her first tattoo 20 years ago, when she was 35, to cover up a genetic skin disorder, and since then she's kept adding art to her body.

You would think after 20 years, the tattooist would get better at his "art."

Some of it is. I have seen some beautiful tattoos. Best one was an angel with butterfly wings covering a girls entire back. Wings went from one shoulder to the other. (Yes, it was the art I was admiring.)

Depends on what it is and how well it is done. I don't have any, never will but do appreciate seeing well-done work.

It is ILLUSTRATION not art. It's like saying McDonalds is food, yeah technically it is edible but it's a stretch to call it food.

There's a growing segment of the population lately that doesn't possess a mirror at home.

Just because you CAN do something doesn't by default mean that you SHOULD.

I can't help but laugh any time someone says, as an argument against tattoos, "What do you think those will look like when you're eighty?"

I wonder what they think they'll look like at eighty WITHOUT tattoos.

If it harms no one else, do whatever makes you happy.

I've always wanted a little red hibiscus tatoo - right on my left okole cheek....HOWEVER, I did always wonder "what they'd say in the nursing home"....so I never got one. Not in the nursing home (yet!), but still don't plan on getting it.....figure they'll be enough laughter at my saggy old okole by then - why entertain them more. Not to mention, that hibiscus might be dropping its leaves by then.....if you get my drift (downwards!) LOL

I have two tattoos myself but yikes. She must have a lot self confidence to walk out in public like that. Good for her.

I have a skin disease that at one point completely covered my body too. It left a lot of scarring & I still have white marks, & what looks like scabs that are just really dry patches of skin.

But that is exactly the reason why I dont want ANY tattoos. As my skin slowly gets clearer I don't want to add anymore marks. It is fascinating to me how she went in the exact opposite direction of that. I don't think she wants anyone's pity. I think she is actually pretty content because she probably accepted a long time ago that skin is only so deep...
