Mark Kirk Navy Award

Washington Post:

The Republican candidate for President Obama's old Senate seat has admitted to inaccurately claiming he received the U.S. Navy's Intelligence Officer of the Year award for his service during NATO's conflict with Serbia in the late 1990s.

Rep. Mark Kirk, a Navy reservist who was elected to Congress in 2001, acknowledged the error in his official biography after The Washington Post began looking into whether he had received the prestigious award, which is given by top Navy officials to a single individual annually.

THE SAME AS BLUMENTHAL? NOPE

Blumenthal appears to have spoken the truth most of the time and even contradicted himself in the same speech. He has called himself a Vietnam Vet, A Vet of the Vietnam Era, A Marine Who Served During Vietnam. The accepted phrase for a Marine Reservist who did not serve in Vietnam itself is "a vet of the Vietnam Era" or "a Vietnam Era Vet." Blumenthal's web page has  Read More...

This is sad. First, he comes out to Mike Rogers (blogactive). Next, he votes against the repeal of DADT. Now, he admits he lied about his military record. Might be time for the GOP to find another Senate nominee in Illinois.

Has the Navy rescinded Kirk's discharge, and sent him the bill for monies owed the government, yet?

It's ironic that many Republican politicians clamour to claim military experience and honour, even going so far as to lie about it, when they demonise the military experience of any Dem trying to get elected.

Who do we have to write/call/email to make it clear that Americans DON'T think "politics" is an excuse for subverting the U.S. government?

Mighty kind of them to refer to this as: "admitted to inaccurately" doesn't that mean he LIED. So, Republicno's "HE LIED" so tear him apart, ruin his life, impeach him... Oh right, he is one of your guys so it's totally OK to LIE about your military service. Kirk, is toast. Hey Mark, thanks for saving the Presidents Senate seat for the D's.

The essence of the Republican Party:

From the Frontline Documentary: Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story.

The quote below is from Tucker Eskew, who was an Aide to Lee Atwater. Tucker later became an advisor to the McCain/Palin Campaign. Here is what a REPBULICAN thinks (and says) about REPUBLICANS:

“Lee understood the power of image and how American symbols resonate with a lot of southerners and a lot of people all over the country and Democrats to this day scratch their head and can’t believe that people vote against their own interest by supporting these Republicans when in fact the audacity and arrogance of that is proud patriotism that transcends money.”

If you don’t believe me, watch the DVD. This quote appears somewhere around the 51 minute mark.

The message here is that the Republican Party believes that anyone that IS a Republican or votes Republican is VOTING AGAINST THEIR OWN INTEREST. THEY KNOW IT.

Now that you know how your own party uses you and has NO respect for you, do you really want to vote for another Republican?

Can you ever again believe anything said by Rushbo, Bill-O, Sean-O, Beck-O, etc.?

Can you ever again watch Fixed Noise and not feel like you are selling yourself out by believing their b.s.?

Can you? Think it over, Repubs. They are playing you for fools. Using your contributions for lap dances.

I myself am a past recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Oops, sorry; I misspoke about my honor's exact title. I should have said:

"In high school, I was a member of the National Honor Society."

Oh my! Just when you thought that the Democrat had shot himself in the foot, here comes the Republican shooting himself in the head.

Kirk is now officially politically dead. If Alexi can't win after this, he's an idiot.

Stolen Valor Act of 2005 makes it a crime to lie about receiving military medals & awards when ... um ... ya didn't.

Kirk was in the House at the time & knew - in advance of his lie - that is was a CRIME to tell such a lie.

And let's not forget that Saint Ronnie himself lied about serving in WWII, once discussing battles, said he remembered seeing a lot of "that kind of action" in WWII. The only action he saw was when the director called for it.
