Cat vs. Beanbag Filling (VIDEO)

First Posted: 06/02/10 11:19 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:40 PM ET

There's no need to address the fact that someone has taken the time to unload copious amounts of beanbag filling into a bathtub. That's run of the mill stuff. But a kitten playing in it? That's what dreams are made of. (via Buzzfeed)

isn't the styrofoam bad for them to eat?
08:31 PM on 06/22/2010
Yes, Styrofoam is toxic to pets. That was the first thing that caught my attention. I caught myself saying, "Oh my goodness, will you please get it out of that poor cat's mouth."

But, it was cute apart from that aspect.

Do you understand how stupid it is to be afraid?

The "director" sounded like an Aussie, for what it's worth.

There's a lot more concern for this cat than the little girl in the 'Telephone' remake...interesting.

Did I miss something? Where was the cat force fed the filling? Where is this manic, scared look on its face? You people need to chill the hell out.

I have four cats in the house. All of them would love a quick little romp in this stuff, and I would of course supervise them, as this cat was. A scared cat doesn't remain silent; it yowls, its irises magnify, it poofs it fur, etc. This cat is doing nothing of the sort, and secondly, it appears to have ingested barely anything that will stop up its system. Get a grip on reality people. If we don't want cats eating things made by humans, none of us should ever have cats period. Inevitably we will forget something innocently, and a cat will get into it. It's a fact of ownership. You do the best you can, and deal with the rest.

This video is certainly no evidence of animal abuse or cruelty. Now get up from your computer and get outside. You need some fresh air.

My cats would eat the stuff which would be pretty bad news.

OK Maybe it's just hot and humid and I'm cranky!
but this just seems cruel!
Maybe it would be funny if the cat was having fun.

As a lifelong cat owner I'd like to reassure you that this is the behavior of a cat AT PLAY. Truly. If that were my cat, I would have tried to stop it from eating any pellets, but at least it doesn't appear to have had more than one or two.

I wish these humans would stop f**king with me.

The cat just looks bewildered, and doesn't know which way is up or out. And it's going to throw up tomorrow morning after having eaten styrofoam.

Shoving the poor cat into the thicker filling is CRUEL and RUDE! Then pushing more stuff towards the cat? That cat wants out. He can't get out with those two giggling jokers blocking his way.

He knows better than to ask for help from the heartless.

They'll torture an animal simply to post something on YouTube without risking themselves or filming themselves or enduring anything worse than a sore trigger finger.

Meanwhile the cat is getting plastic pieces and dust into its stomach and lungs. Not good. I hope that Animal Welfare investigates and some vet checks the cat.

This is not what dreams are made of... unless you are a sociopath.

project much? and you sound nuts.

the cant didnt want out, he would have gotten out. and i see my cat put stuff in its mouth like that all the time, it just falls out after she realizes its not a nom. get a grip...

You've never had a cat, have you? This is the sort of thing you have to STOP them from doing, not force them to do. I give him credit for keeping a close eye on him for as long as he lets him have access to the stuff.

Wait until the cat decides it's a litter box.

Definitely the best comment here!!
