George Bush Facebook Page

UPDATE
President George W. Bush has officially joined Facebook.

His Facebook page includes information on his location (Dallas, TX), birth date (July 6, 1946), education (Harvard Business School and Yale), as well as links to the George W. Bush Presidential Center, the Bush-Cheney Alumni Association, the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, and a link to Amazon, where his forthcoming book, Decision Points, is available for pre-order. There's also a link to the Washington Speakers Bureau, for those interested in scheduling an event with President Bush.

His first status update, posted around 10AM ET, read:

Since leaving office, President Bush has remained active. He has visited 20 states and 8 countries; given over 65 speeches; launched the George W. Bush Presidential Center; participated in 4 policy conferences through The Bush Institute; finished the first draft of his memoir, "Decision Points"; and partnered with President Clinton to establish the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. More on his activities in future posts...

And his second:

Laura Bush's memoir, "Spoken from the Heart," is #1 on the "New York Times" Bestseller List for the third consecutive week. To learn more, visit her website at www.laurawbush.com

President Bush lists five "Favorite Pages"--among them, Laura W. Bush's Facebook page.

His status updates are, thus far, less personal than his wife's, who has been sending short posts from her book tour.

At the time of this post, some 560 people have "liked" his page. Facebook users have posted a stream of complimentary messages on his wall (no word yet on whether the page's admin or Facebook will be monitoring the content.) "I may not have agreed with everything you did, but I never doubted your love of country or your will to protect her," wrote one user.

A Twitter account, @George_WBush, was created under his name, but it has not been verified as authentic. AFP political correspondent Olivier Knox (@OKnox) tweeted, "Sorry to disappoint, but @george_wbush is not the former president's feed, his office says, and Dubya has "no plans to tweet.""

What politicians do you follow on Facebook? Who would you like to see join that hasn't yet?

Now comes the task of rewriting History , wonder how many people will help him on that . I think he would of made a good sheriff for Crawford but as President NO WAY JOSE It will take years to recover from the damage he did to this country .

I hear Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is spamming Bush's Facebook wall with posts like "wtf, i know we weren't bff's, but, dude, waterboarding me 300x wuz totally NOT COOL!"

What they don't show is that he's not wearing pants for that photo.

Is he going to have family pictures with the Saudi royal family on there? His little buddies. Maybe a little water boarding, Abu Ghraib torture and humiliation photos, terrified Iraqi children. You know, his legacy.

Bush claimed God told him to invade Iraq, but God said no such thing. Bush claimed Iraq had 'uranium enrichment tubes' , anthrax and could deliver mass weapons to Florida, convincing Senator Nelson to vote for preauthorization of force. The Air Force disputed that but Bush kept that from Nelson (c-span). Those opposing Bush during those long 8 years are still mad because Bush wouldn't listen to their warnings, and Bush was never impeached or taken to court. How can anyone plead 'innocent until proven guilty' if he's never taken to court? Nixon claimed what Presidents do isn't illegal, but Nixon was Saintly ending the Vietnam War. Bush did what he wanted always--even dropping Geneva conventions. He tried to destroy social security he claims is FDR's democrat welfare program. He lied to get use of force and then lied about that, claiming it was a declaration of 'war' against Iraqi Sunnis. But Iraq never declared war on us and Congress didn't declare war on Iraq. Bush did, and unless he's taken to court the "left", "liberal", 'democrats' will continue their disgust. If this cancer is left as is, that sets the precedent that any future President can follow their own thoughts and devices, no matter who is harmed, and stay and even get a pension. You lie and deceive to win an election (claiming honorable military service yet get prearranged to avoid the Vietnam front when called), then lie and deceive to start war, then pay a price.
