Iron Chef Michael Symon To Lebron James: Stay In Cleveland And I'll Cook For You

Iron Chef Lebron James Michael Symon

From the Associated Press:

CLEVELAND — One of the Cavaliers' most famous fans is hoping the way to LeBron James' heart is through his stomach.

Cleveland native Michael Symon, one of Food Network's Iron Chefs, has offered to go to James' house once a month and cook a meal for the MVP's family and friends if he re-signs as a free agent with the Cavaliers. Symon posted a letter to James on his Facebook page.

Symon thanked James for all he has done for the city and urged him to follow his heart when making his decision. Symon also pointed out that some legendary athletes – Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Jim Brown, Bill Russell and Michael Jordan – created their legacies primarily with one team.

Symon said he knows "firsthand" that James is a "class act" and he hopes James stays in Cleveland "so I can watch you finish what you started which is something not many people get to do."

Last season, Symon teamed with the Cavs and opened two eating spots in Quicken Loans Arena.

It's too bad The Food Network became the slob-appeal, lowbrow, crapfest it is now.

But that's how you get ratings in America: dumb it down.

That guy is a "chef" like I'm the King of Spain.

Would you prefer he wear a toque and have a French accent while whisking his souffles or are you simply a snob when it comes to those in the biz who are excellent in what they do while perhaps looking a bit more like a lifer in prison?

Symon, while not a favorite TV personality of mine, nonetheless knows his cuisine and is extremely well respected in his field.

Thanks for generalizing the French like that and for taking my comment too far the other way and assuming I'm a "snob". It's a sign of how ignorant you are.

You don't understand television, slob-appeal and why people like this are popular now.
Nothing this guy does is "excellent". It's common. That's why he is popular. The commonfolk are put-off by real excellence and achievement.

Given that Michael Symon is one of the premier chefs in the United States and an absolute hoot, that is an offer no one should refuse.

I get such a kick out of watching Symon; he's fun and amazing behind the stove to boot.

I was struck by the arena's name. I did not know it was Quick Loans arena. That is almost funny in a pathetic way that in a hard hit city like Cleveland a high interest loanshark company gets its name on the marquis.

Next we'll see a PayDay Advance arena in say Detroit (or los angeles)

Sadly, it's one of the few growth industries left. Oh, and Michael Symon rocks and he has one of the best smiles in the world. Accept the offer, Lebron.
