Behind-The-Scenes White House Photos: Bow Ties, Basketball & Graduations (PHOTOS, POLL)

First Posted: 06/07/10 02:19 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 05:40 PM ET

May looks like it was a busy month for the Obamas--full of graduations, holidays like Cinco de Mayo and Memorial Day, trips to the Gulf and the President's favorite pastime: basketball with the boys. Also, Obama ditched his usual cravat and debuted a bow tie! What a style statement. Check out our roundup of the best images from the White House Flickr and vote for your favorite.

It's nice to see, after a year of such stress and tension, the Obamas and the Bidens still appearing to be great friends. They always look so genuinely relaxed around each other.

A wonderful thing.

Some really terrific pics. The entire time I am looking at them, I am thinking how perfect everything seems from the 1st Family's viewpoint. Every event is picture perfect. Those visiting are cheerful, grateful for the invite, and pretty much beaming. Everywhere the president goes to give a speech he is looking at throngs of people clapping and beaming as does every president.

It is easy to understand how after a very short period of time those in the White House end up having a very orchestrated view of every day life. I once stayed several days within eye sight of the WH and must admit I was pampered and would gladly go back to get some of the best food in this country and have people make a fuss over me.

I am saying I liked that bubble as well.

As we're talking about style ... I just saw the Kalamazoo commencement speech ... .

What was truely remarkable is that when after the speech each student had to go on stage to shake hands with the principle, another person representing the school, Obama and Arne Duncan, a lot of students spontaneously hugged Obama, and often ONLY Obama and not the other three guys ... .

The youth clearly still connects with Obama ... !

Yeah, except the kid sitting right behind Obama that nodded off during the speech--the speech in which Obama, laughably, advised the kids NOT TO BLAME OTHERS FOR THEIR PROBLEMS. LOL
11:26 PM on 06/07/2010
Indeed, there was a black girl sitting behind him who clearly was very tired ... so what?

Yet all you hear in the MSM is how angry America is at the president, via the nonstop reporting of skewed agenda-driven polls. The media is trying to bring this good man down. But they will FAIL.

Exactly.

But apparently I already fanned you ... :-)

Michelle is smokin' in photo 1!

It is very difficult to live with someone who smokes (you know that breath thing). So I guess she has little alternative but to smoke as well.

Poor attempt at trying to sound clever or snarky. That didn't even make sense!

Go cross a street in TX!

Um, was that an attempt to be all snarky and clever?

If so....EPIC FAIL

Have you had your eyes closed long? Many people in this country do not feel BLESSED right now! And WE certainly don't feel like we got it right! WRONG couldn't feel any worse!

That's the dumbest thing that I have heard today. Go see a shrink and stop blaming the President for your problems. Grow a backbone and tell that boss to shove it if need be, or file for divorce, or join a gym or whatever it is you do that makes you feel special.

OTHERWISE, GO A-W-A-YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
