Craigslist may be the one-stop shop for new roommates, used furniture, and an endless supply of casual encounters, but it's apparently a source for Hollywood news as well. Yup, Craigslist broke it first: a "Titanic" sequel is on the way, and boy does it sound amazing.
According to this Craigslist ad, the working title to the follow up is "Titanic 2: Mermaid Saviors." It's being produced by Megamonolith Pictures (a major player among fake sounding production companies)
Here's the plot description, which to be honest, sounds wayyyy better than the original:
The film begins moments after the sinking of the Titanic. All who have drowned are brought back to life by a futuristic race of mermaids, called the Mantocks, who welcome the humans to their underwater paradise. Soon after, JACK DAWSON is elected king of the underwater humans. DAWSON requests that all humans be returned above water, a request that is denied by KING MANTROCK. The humans are slowly brainwashed into worshiping their mermaid saviors. Meanwhile, the sunken TITANIC has become a haunted underwater wasteland inhabited by RAGGARO and his band of mermaid pirates. Will the humans ever free themselves from their mermaid slavery? Will the mermaid pirates wage war on Mantock?
And the award goes to...
Making matters even more interesting, looks like "Mermaid Saviors" will have some competition. The Asylum, production company of the cheapest Hollywood knockoffs money can buy, has their own "Titanic" sequel in the works.
