Homeless Man Intentionally Gets Arrested To 'Have A Place To Sleep'

A New Hampshire homeless man arrested for vandalizing a Dunkin' Donuts said that he tried to get arrested so that he could "have a place to sleep."

According to the Portsmouth Herald, 27-year-old Jamaine Makepeace had previously gone door-to-door, asking individuals if he could stay in their homes.

From the Portsmouth Herald:

Makepeace said he has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and would not hurt himself or others. He told the court he came to the area with friends and has since been barred from the shelter and moved along by police officers from roadways and neighborhoods.
