Halle Berry Vogue Cover: Actress To Be On September Issue?

Fashionista has it on good authority that Halle Berry will be on the cover of Vogue's coveted September issue. This is the first time that a black woman will be featured on the front of the fashion mag's September publication since Naomi Campbell in 1989. Berry's upcoming film "Frankie and Alice" will premiere this fall and her new scent, Reveal, will be in stores in August.

When I see this gorgeous woman I see - Halle Berry! A woman. A beautiful woman, but a woman. What I don't see is "black." When we can get to this, women, we will have come a long, long way. Race - no more relevant that religion, political affiliation, gender orientation.

Notice the language... It says the first "September publication" since 1989. There have been other black women on the cover of Vogue more recently than 1989 -- Michelle Obama, Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce just to name a few.

Not sure why the "September" issue should hold a special significance for Black women or any other women for that matter.

Vogue's September issue is about 400 pages...double or triple the other issues in size and carries the hottest in fall/winter fashion...fashionistas love this issue...as do the advertisers! Go Forty and Fabulous Halle Berry!

I wish this trend of using celebrities instead of models on the covers of magazines would end. She's a beautiful girl and I'm glad they're putting a black actress on, but what about a black model?

andys0391....let's get real...first you complain about using a celebrity rather than a model and then you totally ignore reality about how often this magazine or any fashion magazine uses a black model on the cover...they don't use a black model because they don't believe a black model will sell magazines...and they use celebrities both black, white, Latino and other because it has been proven they sell magazines.How many times can Vogue put Kate Moss on the cover? Bring on the gorgeous Halle and perhaps you will just skip this issue!
