What's Your Reaction?

Barbara Bush, daughter of president George W. Bush, appeared as a guest on "Fox News Sunday" this week to discuss her non-profit Global Health Corps, whose mission is to bring health equity to the U.S. and Africa, and she made some comments that surprised host Chris Wallace.

"Why do, basically, people with money have good health care and why do people who live on lower salaries not have good health care?" Bush asked. "Health should be a right for everyone."

"What do you think about Obama health care reform?" Wallace asked.

"Obviously the health care reform bill was highly debated by a lot of people," Bush responded., "and I'm glad the bill was passed."

I am becoming convinced that young adults might - just might - save us from the mess we have made of our country and our national spirit. You see educated and enlightened comments from not just the kids of politicians, but from young evangelicals and other groups whose parents seem to be so unbending in their thinking. To a large extent, their enlightenment is due to the internet phenomena. I hope this  Read More...

Intelligence must skip a generation in the Bush clan. Glad it made a landing on Barbara, though. It's as though she is approaching government as a method by which to bring equity to the health care system. That kind of view stems from THINKING about an issue. Other Republicans can follow suit if they want to leave the asylum.

Ms Bush is the future and i'm glad to see she is open minded, independant and very brave to say that on that network (all things considered). Suddenly the future doesn't look so bad.
Truth is Freedom   11:06 AM on 6/15/2010
She's dummer than her Dad. This will make all health care crappy. You say what you want today, but in 10 years remember what you just read. We all know someone old or they will be how we care about that will not get the care they need because there will not be enough to go around. The George Soros, The Bushs, Clintons, Obamas, Oparh, Rush and everyone else who is rich will never have to think about it but, the rest of Us will. When your Grandparents, Mother or Father, very sick Baby are given the pill so they don't feel all the pain you are going to be very upset. The Goverment does not run anything good. Don't look at it as a 'Right - Left' thing, but a 'Rich - Poor' thing and you will understand it better

We all know how bad the Scandinavians, British, and French have it with their sucky socialistic medicine. They're dropping like flies over there.

Hoo-boy. Let's ignore the fact that, at last measurement, we were 37th on the world health-o-meter. Behind all these socialistic places. Things that make you--well, maybe not YOU--go, "hmmm."

Is it classy to say that I want to do it w/her face? Just wondering.

Hear, hear. Absolutely right, though W didn't do the remaining middle class or the surging poor any favors. W and wife apparently did a good job raising their kids though. Hats off to them for that.

Barbara is smart and observant. Good for her. Non-partisan as well. A true American. Good for her.

I hope you're very healthy and you stay that way until your last day.

Meet Barbara, Bush's other rebellious daughter.

Quite frankly, I like this one better!!!!!
radnad76   10:58 PM on 6/14/2010
Bush ruined the middle class? Lol dems are really ignorant. Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac (a dem thing) is what caused all the economic problems. Look back at all the videos of bush, mccain and many others from 2001 through 2006 trying desperately to convince the dems to pass a law to regulate FM & FM. No one listened. I will never vote for a democrat again, and I mean never. Obama is a sorry excuse for a president let alone an American. Darn shame......all hopes of good out of him went to the toilets oh about 30 days into his presidency.

ThirdSection   01:25 AM on 6/15/2010
You're right. Bush didn't ruin the middle class. That honor goes to Reagan.

Reagan dug the grave for the middle class. Bush lowered the coffin into the plot. It's up to Obama and the rest of us to see that the middle class get pulled back up before they cover us with dirt and completely finish the job.
hopecard   10:47 AM on 6/15/2010
standing up and applauding you, sorry excuse to start using former presidents children to get your point across.....not working! defending my rights a citizen whose fore fathers believed in our constitution, no community service helper will ever convince me "our" best interest are his, too. No loyality, trust or respect!

I am so pleased to hear Barbara Bush, daughter of President and Mrs. Bush. To use her voice and speak up for those who may not have a voice. I dare say, I applaud the Bushes' for *teaching their children well.* To use their own voices to help causes in which their father, may or may not had agree with.
Stop Spin   07:05 PM on 6/14/2010
This family will do and say anything to gain trust for their father, again. Please, people don't
do it! George Bush ruined this country. Make him responsible. Make future president's
responsible. Forgive but don't forget!

Maybe one day when she grows up and has a real, productive job, she'll change her opinion.

Sure she is glad. The Dems allowed it to be compromised down to a Repulican bill. Then the Repulicans did not even vote for it, didn't have to, we did all the dirty work for them. Gads.
theMage   12:56 AM on 6/15/2010
Put down the bong and back away slowly. The Dems required exactly ZERO GOP votes to cram the Healthcontrol Law down our throats.

The Dems will get their classes kicked in Nov. Might lose the House? What will The Queen do without Her $20k a Month office and Her 747 like Obama has. Obama is the President, not Pelosi. I hope we lose 85 seats just to get Nancy out as the speaker. We might even lose the Senate, but i don't think so with Acorn or whatever they call themselves today. If We were really smart We would get Pelosi out before Nov. More like this week. People hate Her and can see more corrupt than the whole House in 2006. She is more of culture of corruption than all of Congress combined.
fourtruth   05:46 PM on 6/15/2010
Hi you all! Thanks for posting. Can anyone tell me how the bill that is passed differs from the Bush proposed healthcare plan?
UniverseMan   03:36 PM on 6/14/2010
"What do you think about Obama health reform?"

Why can't he just say, "What do you think about health care reform as recently passed by Congress?"

I wish she had said, "Is 'Obama' an adjective now? Can you please define that term before I answer the question? Can I separately answer what I think about health reform and what I think about Obama?"
Nick Walters   03:58 PM on 6/15/2010
But since she's not that arrogant, she simply anwered the question.

There are apps you can use to connect to your browser to tell you if you've spelled something incorrectly. You might try using one. That way it wouldn't be immediately obvious what kind of idiot you are. It would take longer than .5 seconds, at least.
Factonfact   03:14 PM on 6/14/2010
Well, that's the last time she'll be asked to appear on Rupert Murdoch's Fox News.
