Obamas

WASHINGTON — The first couple took in a performance of "Thurgood," the play about Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, at the Kennedy Center on Friday night.

President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, sat in the president's box for the sold-out performance.

Marshall was the first black justice on the high court. He is being played by Laurence Fishburne in the one-man show.

The production opened on Broadway in 2008 and earned Fishburne a Tony Award nomination.

I have absolutely zero interest in what the Obama's did on date night. That is entirely their business.

Laurence Fishburne is a very talented actor...I wish we could see more of him on the stage and big screen...he is amazing! I'm sure the President and First Lady enjoyed the play.

I'm sure most of us already know what they did on date night!

The same thing most of us do with our spouses when we can get a moment away from the kids!!

Nice to see him attempting to maintain a healthy balance between family life and work. We need a well balanced, clear thinking, emotionally stable Prez able to function without the use of drugs and alcohol. We're so fortunate to have this man as Prez in these troubling times. So fortunate.

I am so glad this loving, considerate, attentive husband and father is our President. Stability and devotion in a normal marriage is hard enough but for a man with the pressures of office and the constant criticism of every step he takes, makes his seemingly wonderful relationship with Michelle, that much more important.

even presidents are allowed to have a life, a family, a relationship, culture, exercise, food and yes, fun. politics belong in another section. go in peace and have at it.

You seem to be intelligent enough HP, couldn't you use a diff term than "date night" for a married couple...oh, and take out "stay at home mom"....what mom stays at home and while we are at it, and 'soccer mom'....BOOOORING!!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with referring to a married couple's times out together as "date nights"; the terms stay-at-home-mom (sahm) and soccer-mom are fine also.
Grumpy much?

Married couples who fail to engage in date night account for the nations divorce rate.

I know Flotus is doing everything in her powers, to keep this man remains calm, cool and collect. Thanks Flotus, yes, keeps him satisfied and happy, for I don't want any grouchy unhappy President anywhere near that red button.

You mean he didn't use tax-payer dollars to use Air Force One to go to Chicago to clear some brush? The nerve of him using his own money to pay for a local date night with his wife!!

Considering he is President, I don't think he'd walk there.. When Bush was going to Texas every week and golfing when he should have been working, where were your cries?
