BP Protests: Tony Hayward Congressional Testimony Interrupted In Protest (PHOTOS/VIDEO)

Gulf commercial shrimper Diane Wilson was arrested for interrupting BP CEO Tony Hayward's testimony on Capitol Hill. Hayward barely started his opening statement when Wilson, painted to look like she had oil on her, shouted, ""You need to be charged with a crime!"

Wilson was joined by other members of Code Pink, a protest group that she co-founded. The group also held a demonstration the day prior in front of the White House, where Hayward was meeting with President Obama.

Wilson was arrested last week when she interrupted another congressional hearing on the Gulf oil spill by pouring syrup on herself.

Diane Wilson is a great lady. Let's fund her to support our needs. We need all the people who have the guts to stand up for what's right to be given the funds to do so. It's about time we start giving these people the support that they earned. I say we give her a salary to continue and a staff and office to help her. She is one of the people (and there are a few) who could help bring about a "Change we can believe in". Are there any groups who can help us fund her? Let me know where to send a check.

The display was pointless. You wanted cheap gas and BP provided it.
Accidents happen - unfortunately this one hit close to home and may be uncontrollable.

But don't worry about this oil gusher. In no time at all, the US will start a war with Iran, using
BP's oil no less, and when bombs start flying, and tens of thousands of babies die, the US, especially the Southern US, will feel good about itself again.

I think she deserves a day in front of the committee so that we all see the consequences of our addiction. I know BP is the one on the spot because of the human errors that caused the spill. But human errors are a given and until the technology shows that it can deal with a deep water spill, I cannot see how the Government can allow them to resume. In any event, the watch word for the future must be caution. The Obama administration is called to make some momentous decisions, in the coming weeks, and we must all realize that their is also a very fragile economy to consider. These decisions will either lead us to success or disaster. And I wish I had the answers, but one thing I do know; that the days of drill, baby drill are over, and second we must redouble our commitment to the green economy and to a sane exploitation of our resources.

Great idea.

If we want the Obama administration to stop drilling, we'd better be writing letters and making phone calls because there is no sign things are moving in that direction. Even the moratorium-- it is only on pending leases. Thousands of rigs are drilling off shore right now.

I also learned ... that they think that America is demanding to much ... and then I learned that alot of American's pensions are though BP .... the roots of suffering will be far and wide ...because of BP ...

Diane Wilson is my hero! Don't think this is her first time at the rodeo, she is a true eco-warrior! She is a completely Unreasonable Woman and proud of it. Please, she is certainly no good witch. There were women like that in Salem only they were screaming that the devil was in them because of the witches who were on trial. This Code Pinker wasn't dealing with the spiritual and would probably have been put on trial in Salem as a witch.
