The LARGEST Home For Sale In The U.S. - It Comes 'As Is' (PHOTOS)

WINDERMERE, Fla. (AP) - The brochure promises a "monument to unparalleled success."

The 90,000-square-foot home for sale outside Orlando has 23 bathrooms, 13 bedrooms, 10 kitchens and three pools. All that and more for $75 million "as is."

The catch? It's not finished.

Nicknamed "Versailles" by owner and timeshare tycoon David Siegel, the mansion hit the market recently as the largest home for sale in the United States. Construction was halted last year to save money in a recession that proved particularly hard on Siegel's industry.

The home also has a 20-car garage, a bowling alley, an indoor-roller rink, a movie theater, a video arcade, a fitness center, a baseball field and two tennis courts. But the mansion's interior has no carpet, tile or interior walls. Check out photos of the unfinished home:

Perfect example as to why anyone who makes over $10 million needs to be taxed at least 50%.

i have worked in the area of windi ( water access)...mere ( the rich only), if your bank account is under say... alot, u cant live there, lots of sports and other high profile people live there(i have pics with them for proof), as i worked around and in the place, trying to get in is like Fort Knox!, those people pay for that! it is truly a wealthy place, with that said...some homes go for that kind of money and more, some of the residents are nice and real...as i drove my trash truck around, one family chased me down at xmas time to give me a $100 tip, wwwaahhoo, movie tickets, fine wine, scotch, beer, even a flashlight w/radio...oh and some cookies. Other times people would leave out water or gatorade with some snacks or send their kids out with it. That house is HUGE i have seen it up close!, do not fault them for making $ and doing well, along with providing for their familys...as we do the same, just at a different level. some of us want that money, and life style...i would like to sit and talk with them to find out what DRIVES them, day in and day out.
Let us b happy to wake up and take a breath, b bleesed to have what u have, not for what u do not.

This is definitely a cool looking building, but a home? It looks like you'd get your daily exercise anyway...

Let's see, with some creative financing and if the seller will take back a second, I can afford this on my 65K a year salary. Of course, it will be an interest only loan, but, I think I can swing it. I've been approved for 73 mil. by FannieMae. HA!!!! Sorry, I thought this was 2007 when all things were possible.

This is what is wrong with America.... tax breaks for the rich so they buy $75 million homes. Imagine how much good in the world you could do with that much money! This is a grotesque display of American greed and gluttony.
plan-uts   10:02 AM on 6/24/2010
This is what is right with America. You have the right to spend your money how ever you please. If this was a government project it would have cost 3 times as much and the Administration would be touting that it created or saved 10 thousand jobs.
rchwel   01:10 PM on 6/24/2010
Listen Mr Iwannabrich, at 75 million lets say 50k a unit the governent could house 1500 desperate families, and BTW I am sure he had some workers do the work I doubt Mr Seigle did all that labor by himslf !

still harboring delusions that the american dream is alive and well and someday you could be rich? ask yourself... how did he get this rich? i'm sure off the backs of hardworking americans, by evading paying his share of taxes, and with the help of the republican party. it's despicable and it is an insult to 99% of the american population to say that this is what is right about america.
butch45   05:15 PM on 6/28/2010
you go earn that much and you can do with it as you please

It's not the structure that is good or bad. It is how it is utilized that gives it purpose and meaning. Now how about if we made it into a terminally ill home, people no matter what social status who were diagnosed with a terminal disease and only given a few weeks or months left to live could move in, with their families, and spend their last days being served and catered to in castle of good will. Or a boarding school that taught young people to enter political life and serve as public servants. Studying the tenets of good leadership, and wisdom of the many great sages. Yes, the huge place has many potentials, may it be one that adds to the betterment of society.
