Apple iPhone 4 Release: Frenzy Grows As THOUSANDS Line Up For New iPhone (PHOTOS)

AP/Huffington Post     First Posted: 06/24/10 09:28 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 05:50 PM ET

BERLIN -- Apple Inc.'s newest iPhone was in hot demand Thursday as hundreds lined up outside stores in Tokyo, Berlin, New York and elsewhere to become among the first to own the device (see photos below).

The iPhone 4's launch began in Japan and moved across France, Germany and the U.K. before going on sale in the U.S. at 7 a.m. in each time zone.

Unlike past launches, there were worries about limited supplies after more than 600,000 people rushed to pre-order iPhones on the first day they were available, prompting Apple and its U.S. carrier, AT&T Inc., to stop taking orders for shipment by Thursday's launch. On Apple's website, new orders weren't promised for delivery until July 14.

AT&T stopped taking pre-orders entirely and won't have any iPhone 4s for people who didn't reserve them until June 29. That means people who didn't place an iPhone 4 order had to line up outside Apple stores Thursday in the hopes of snagging one on a first-come, first-served basis. Apple won't say whether it believes it has enough iPhones on hand to avoid disappointing those would-be buyers. Story continued on next page

Well jgeurian. I can't wait all night for HP to allow my posts through. So I'm afraid some of your nonsensical comments will remain unanswered for now. If I have nothing better to do, I'll check later.

Once again jGuerian..I can't answer your question directly as HP is censoring. So I'll try here:

That is ok. Lots of people are not classy. You are not classy and you seem to do ok. I mean your gay, you have a "picture" with you and Bill Clinton that looks like a cut out at a mall, and i think you live in New York. You have it all!

I SAY to you: You don't believe I met Clinton...how will I cope.
While I don't generally defend my life to people from Kansas, my monthly rent does probably cost more than the entire purchase price of your trailer, so I suppose I do have alot. Thanks for noticing. Aspire.

"IPhone fans Mitsuru Endo, left, and Ryota Musha demonstrate why they will never, ever have sex with a girl at a Softbank store in the Harajuku district in Tokyo on Thursday morning, June 24, 2010."

Who does have sex at the Softbank store in the Harajuku district in Tokyo?

Crack/Heads. What must a person's psyche be like that there is this mosquito-to-the-light need to satisfy the Apple Techno Addiction and wait on line for that long?

That sucks. Nothing like the thrill of waiting for a new package like some kid and tearing into it. You have far more composure when it comes to getting new devices then I do.

Stand up to your wife. Tell her to use a smaller one. It's affecting you. Nite for now.

And you tell wifey to use a smaller one..with protection. Good nite.

If she weren't already dead, I'd stab my mother in the throat if it meant getting and iPhone before she did.

Are we crazy or what?

JGuerian: I'm trying to answer your silly question, but my post keeps getting removed.

So you ask if i know what TRIM means. Let me ask you what the point of that is. I can Google something (as you do) and post the definition, but what'll that show you? I'm not playing this silly game.

Then you ask me what WE means. What WE means and I'm shocked that I have to point this out to you is you + me, us. Understand now?

I am shocked your posts keep getting removed. I mean I really am. We are two peas in a pod. You fly off the handle at the smallest remark and I enjoy upsetting people just for the sake of it. Dangerous combo.
07:08 PM on 06/25/2010
So you understand the word WE ok now? I'm enjoying my battle with you. You've not been much of a match for me.

What fools. In 2-3 weeks, they can just walk in and get it right off. It never ceases to amaze me how they have to have it NOW.
06:47 PM on 06/25/2010
And there are those of us who understand the concept of "online ordering".

I guess it is a last badge of courage of something:
- "Hey, I can wait 6 hours on a sidewalk to get a phone".
- "Wow!"

It was never my intention to be mature; only to upset you and MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! By the way is that your boy friend in the picture? He looks like he plays the dude in your relationship. Does he at least give you a reach around?

Reported waits of up to eight hours in line to buy the iPhone 4 Thursday indicated that first-day sales were going to be good. And while Apple has not yet announced official sales numbers, some Wall Street analysts have done some extrapolation based on interviews with customers at stores around the U.S. Thursday.
On Friday, Oppenheimer's Yair Reiner did a little math to estimate that Apple may have sold more than 1.5 million iPhone 4s to date. He gets there by adding the 600,000 preordered units Apple announced last week, plus estimating 100,000 units sold to walk-in customers (guessing an average of 500 per store), 50,000 units sold to Best Buy (about 45 per store), and then doubling that number to include international sales.
There's no way to know how accurate those numbers actually are--Apple doesn't publicly disclose how many units are distributed to each store--but it seems plausible. Apple may release numbers sometime Friday, or it could wait until after the weekend, as it has with past product launches, to enumerate its total four day sales total.

Unlike others, I do take web info with a grain of salt, but interesting nonetheless.

that is quite a nice cut-paste story you have there. Glad to see you are so good at cut-pasting as you seem to be so upset at others for doing it. But hey, do as I say not as I do, right?
03:40 PM on 06/25/2010
Do you have one original thought in that tiny head of yours. Do you seek out the arguments I make to you, to figure out what arguments you'll make to me. LOL. You are devoid of an original thought aren't you dolt.
Now once again, let's clarify another misleading jgeurian remark. I never said copying and pasting is a bad thing. Nor did I say that I don't copy and paste (did I dolt)? Show me if I did.
What I did say was YOU use copy and paste techniques to delude people into thinking you have some kind of tech knowledge. You further use copy and paste techniques to mislead people about Apple. Copying and pasting is cool. I use it quite a bit. You however use it to defame a company and promote yourself as something you're clearly not.
03:43 PM on 06/25/2010
Are you ever going to show us evidence that you've posted negative things about any other company but Apple oh glorious techie???? You can copy and paste from any thread you've participated in. Show us how even-handed you are in your treatment of other companies. LOL. Yea right. Will you now admit that you have a singularly anti-Apple agenda oh glorious parrot.
