NEW YORK — Sammy Hagar (HAY'-gar) is lending his signature voice to an autobiography.
The rocker has signed with It Books to write a memoir. It's due to be released in 2011.
Hagar said Wednesday that he's "been writing this book my whole life" and that it's "time to put it in between two covers."
The 62-year-old Hagar has been a solo artist and even a tequila producer but is best known as the former front man for Van Halen. He replaced David Lee Roth. He's now the lead singer for Chickenfoot.
It Books is an imprint of HarperCollins.
