Elisabetta Gucci, the daughter of fashion mogul Paolo Gucci, plans to open a global chain of hotels under her name, that is, unless mega-fashion conglomerate (and Gucci owner) PPR can stop her: they filed a lawsuit in Florence this week against her, according to Bloomberg News.
Elisabetta plans on opening an 87-suite property in Dubai's Media World area by the end of 2010. The hotel will be branded EG Hotels by Elisabetta Gucci, and will feature furniture she designed. But that's not all: she plans on opening 40 hotels across the world over the next 15 years.
If she succeeds in getting past PPR, her hotel will join the ranks of Armani and Versace with Dubai properties.
