Stewart Welcomes Adam Sandler & Chris Rock For The Most Laid Back Interview Ever (VIDEO)

First Posted: 06/25/10 03:03 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:55 PM ET

Only watch this video if you like watching world-famous comedians goofing around and being funny. What was meant to be an interview on "The Daily Show," was basically just Adam Sandler and Chris Rock hanging out with their friend Jon Stewart. Obviously, it was great.

The three wistfully regretted the fact that this was a rare experience since Stewart is kind of tied down to his day job. Said Rock: "You don't think the real news is gonna tell 'em what's going on," of course prompting a loud applause from the audience.

Boy nothing can propagate this myth that a man can not keep his eye off a sexy woman than the movies. People a hundred years ago never had porn or movies that glorified mammaries and behinds. Even 50 years ago. Really up until Jayne Mansfield I believe. Is that 50 years? I guess so.

I hope that is sarcasm, because porn has been around forever...

I was way more interested in what happened at the beginning of the interview: http://allbillnobull.net/2010/06/daily-show-first-at-least-in-awhile.html

What was even more astounding, is that studio security didn't apeshoot over that moment.

I think it was more of a tribute by Rock and Sandler to Jon Stewart, for being an old friend and actually getting some real new out there. The Jon Stewart show is a minor show for one of those guys to appear on, let alone both at the same time.
12:45 AM on 06/27/2010
I usually love when the guest is an old friend of Jon's - such interviews have produced a lot of comedy gold over the years - but I thought this was dull and boring. I'm a big fan of Sandler's, too, but couldn't believe how deeply uninteresting he was in this. A sad disappointment.

Chris Rock is a genius, full bore baby. He always feels like he's gonna explode in language like geyser. I have always loved him and can't imagine ever not loving him.

So right. Rock is brilliant and oh so truthful. His line about not getting real news from news shows was the best line of the segment.

And... he's humble. True sign of someone who knows their worth and doesn't need others to pump 'em up.
10:47 PM on 06/26/2010
Yes, Jon Stewart talked too much, looked at Sandler the whole time, and basically ignored Chris Rock. Like early Jay Leno, Stewart tends to suck up all the oxygen when he "interviews" people.

Two funny dudes like Chris Rock and Adam Sandler, and John Stewart doesn't let them tell ONE funny story??? He yaps and yaps and yaps. I love Stewart, but in this short segment, he should've asked a couple of short questions, and let the comedians do what they do best: talk.

This is one of his failures. He yaps too darn much. He interrupts guests. He routinely talks about himself in competition with his guest. His guests aren't some dry, dull academic you have to 'make fun'. Chris Rock barely even talked. What's that?

I thought the info about Spade being a "Diva" and needing his own chair at a movie was interesting.

Here's a bunch of random people (HP readers ... many of whom have never achieved anything at all in their lives, other than passing on their dubious genetics) criticizing a bunch of other people (comedians) that they don't know personally. It's enough to make one hurl.

The new American pastime: moralizing about those you don't know while looking in the mirror and licking your own reflection.

Comedians are priests of the secular religion: Comedy. Comedy is a sacred religion of amorality. Priests are only as good as their comic shtick.

He usually dominates and steers the conversation. I think having two guests at the same time threw both Chris and Adam because they wanted to share the segment. They're both very generous guys and all three are obviously friends.
12:05 PM on 06/26/2010
It was a bit uncomfortable how the guy from the audience didn't shake Chris rock's hand. I guess he was too nervous.

Rock never extended his hand to the man for a handshake. Sandler and Stewart initiated the handshakes.

Rock, the guest, does not have to extend his hand. Doofus is not a hero who saved someone? He's just someone pulled on stage because he looks like Adam Sandler.

Was it just me, or was it a little uncomfortable how Stewart seemed eye-locked with Sandler? Stewart was constantly looking over his right shoulder to Sandler, pretty much ignoring Rock. Stewart and Sandler must be straight up homo for each other or something. Too bad, cause I agree with all the other commentators, Chris Rock is far and a away funnier.

It's just you. Stewart sat directly in front of both and didn't have to move his head, just his eyes. You can see it at 6:38 where he was glancing at both equally.

Come on, people, one of my all time favorite movies is the Wedding Singer. Sweet, kind, funny character played by Adam, with Drew Barrymore, and Billy Idol, 80's music and a happy ending.

It's not an Adam Sandler movie. It's a Drew Barymore movie and that's why it is bearable. There. Glad to clear that up. ;)
