Representative Moran Speaks Out Against Violence Directed At Census Workers (VIDEO)

Last week, we noted that Census employees have endured a ridiculous number of threats to their person as they've conducted their duties this year.

Today, Ed O'Keefe grabs video of Representative Jim Moran (D-Va.) decrying these attacks on the floor of the House. As Moran points out, it's "more than double the violence that occurred during the last Census in 2000."

Moran goes on to lay blame, thusly: "I'm afraid that some of this abuse may be tied to some of the anti-government rhetoric from some people in this body and the Republican noise machine, in other words, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck and other so-called shock jocks."

For what it's worth, O'Keefe points out that Census officials maintain that "they do not consider anti-government sentiment more widespread than usual this year".
