First Posted: 6/29/10 Updated: 5/25/11

Chris Lomen is on a mission to raise money to rebuild schools in Haiti -- by rollerskating 4,000 miles. Local news station KARE reports Lomen is starting his trek in his home state of Minnesota and plans to journey to Maine before skating down the East Coast to Florida.

Lomen has created a website, Rolling to Rebuild, to raise awareness about his expedition and collect donations through international nonprofit Outreach International. So far, Lomen has raised over $1,000 of his ambitious $100,000 goal.

"Look at me," says Look-at-me Stanley, and the media obliges.

"I am charitable," says Look-at-me Stanley, "I am doing something fun and to make myself feel better about it I am using charity as an excuse to do it."

The media admires L-a-m Stanley's altruistic actions and his charitable disposition.

"Why does Look-at-me Stanley not actually aid in rebuilding?", I ask.

"You evil cynic," respond the masses. "What have you ever done? He is raising awareness and making the world better."

"Is he?"
