Karl Rove-Backed Group, American Crossroads, Unleashes Second Attack Ad Against Harry Reid

American Crossroads has just released their second ad in Nevada attacking Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

The 527 group, backed by Karl Rove, RNC Chariman Ed Gillespie and a host of other prominent Republicans, revisits the disastrous comments Reid made about Nevada unemployment when he said on the Senate floor in March, "only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good."

The ad responds, "Really, Harry?"

Reid was speaking about the unemployment rate which had remained stable at 9.7 percent instead of plummeting, as analysts predicted. Nonetheless Nevada still has one of the highest unemployment rates (14 percent) in the country -- a fact the ad makes sure to mention.

The ad does not promote Reid's Republican challenger, Sharron Angle. The focus is on taking shots at Reid, who is already unpopular among Nevadans and is facing what many political observers consider his toughest re-election this fall.

American Crossroads says that the ad will start today with an initial statewide buy of $120,000.
