Carmelo Anthony And LaLa Vasquez List Sprawling Estate For $9.5 Million (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 06/30/10 08:25 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 05:55 PM ET

NBA star Carmelo Anthony and his fiance, TV personality Lala Vasquez, are selling their massive suburban Denver mansion for a starting price of $9.5 million. The house, which Anthony bought in 2007 for $12 million, features a 21,000-plus- square-foot main house, a 5,500-square-foot barn and paddock, and a 1,600-square- foot guest house. The main house includes seven fireplaces, a wine cellar, 15 bathrooms, a theater, a gym, a 3,000-square- foot recording studio, a seven-car garage and a 54-foot-long pool.

The house was listed well before rumors began to circulate that Anthony, whose contract expires after the end of next season, would be traded.

Anthony's listing agent told the Denver Post he wasn't sure why Anthony was selling the estate, but speculated that he and Vasquez may want to "get a little closer to town. I think it's because his family situation has changed since he bought it. He has a 3-year-old now."

Anthony and Vasquez will star in a reality show on VH1 based on their engagement and wedding.

He ain't making that much money anymore. You only have so long to make it and his marketability isn't what it use to be. Plus he's taking a huge 3 million dollar hit on it. They don't count on the amount of money it takes just to run a place that big from day to day. His electric bill alone is in the thousands. Then the landscaping and gas and cable and all the other things that entertain the kids and you are paying through the nose!

Good luck with that! Big market for hideous Neo-Vegas style mansions.

He's selling because he won't take the contract being offered and the Nugs are gonna trade him.

That's what I was thinking but I also heard he wanted to move to an area closer to downtown.

Sounds like he/they will lose money on this grotesque monument to self indulgence. Consider the environmental impact of a 21,000 square foot house. For two people. Mindless piggies.

wow, really? With all of the charity work melo does for the Denver area, the amount of hard work he's put in to his sport, and his continued growth as a maturing adult - could you be a little more ignorant?

Could this house be a little more tacky? It speaks volumes of its inhabitants.

Wow...why don't you tell them what kind of toilet paper and cleaning products they should use as well. Nothing worse than "mindless piggies" than holier than thou HuffPost users.

You are correct. They do need in depth instructions on how to shake the tasteless influences in this house and appreciate a more refined palette.
