Norwegian Cruise's Epic Ship Nearly Too Big For NYC Harbor (PHOTOS)

They weren't kidding when they named it: Norwegian Cruises' newest boat, Epic, is nearly too big to be shown off in New York City, according to USA Today.

The 4,100 passenger boat is scheduled to make its inaugural journey into New York Harbor on Friday (and be christened at 2pm by Reba McEntire), but in order to get in it's going to drop 5 lifeboats from its sides to make the squeeze, according to a company spokeswoman.

The boat, which makes its first cruise to Miami on July 2, will come back into NY Harbor to host this year's annual fireworks display on July 4th. It will then set sea on its regular excursions to the Eastern and Western Caribbean (the boat will also make transatlantic trips and cruise around Spain and Italy) on July 10th.

The Epic is more than 60% larger than the largest Norwegian Cruise Line ship currently at sea (its 1,080 feet long and 133 feet wide). There are 20 dining options, a Svedka ice bar, a 2-story Wii, two 3-lane bowling alleys, a rock-climbing and an aqua park, among other ridiculous features.

If this isn't a feat in engineering and over-stimulation options, then we don't know what is.
