It overshadowed the NBA Finals; it overshadowed the NBA Draft. And now it is here: the 2010 NBA free agency period. With superstars galore, teams have thrown away past seasons in order to remove enough salary cap to aggressively woo these free agents. Some teams have enough room to offer two maximum contracts. For the stars' incumbent teams, this is a period of mass hysteria. For teams such as the New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers, this is the moment to change their respective franchises from the laughing stocks of the league to respectable contenders.
