Janeane Garofalo Speaks Out Against Brazilian Waxing (VIDEO)

Janeane Garofalo takes on Brazilian waxing in her new standup special "If You Will," and she explains her anti-pubic grooming stance in a new interview with Uinterview.com.

"It couldn't possibly be true that there are a lot of guys who find adult females with genitals that look pre-adolescent that attractive," she said. "If they do, that's a problem."

Janeane chalks up the obsession with hairlessness to a "national myth."

"I feel like we've been conned into thinking it's desirable to have that waxing done and that people like it," she continues. "I think it's a national myth that we have all gone along with for some reason."

Last year Janeane donned some arm pit hair extensions to promote energy conservation.

Without being too vulgar, let's just say my man thought that 'shaved smooth' was oh-so great...un­til, that is, I challenged him to 'enjoy' the same effect on HIS sensitive parts - after a few days, when he was going only slightly mad from the itching and stubble, I helpfully offered him a "But, babe, why don't you just shave again...li­ke you recommende­d for me?"...hav­en't really heard much on the subject since then... ;)

Ms. Garofolo judging my preference for a gals personal grooming choice, suggesting I've been tricked into believing a gal's smooth pubes are attractive­.

Sort of makes you wonder if she has or hasn't trimmed her patch since puberty. Now THAT would be really attractive­!

Most of the women I know (myself included) do it because it feels better and cleaner.
None of us think we look like little girls and neither do the men in our lives. Did anyone ever answer the "it's there for a reason" question?

Gross. It's weird to have no hair there at all. I am a woman and part of why the hair there is to protect the area to keep it cleaner...­scary that any man or woman would prefer the prepubesce­nt hairless look.

I heard on the radio from a profession­al waxer that women are bringing their 12 year olds in for complete waxes. All I could think was why do women hate their bodies? "Honey, you'll be cleaner". Fallacy.
