If I'm not mistaken, wearing the flag is just like dropping it on the ground.

Is it me or is Blake Lively's head grotesquely over-sized in that picture? (I don't know who she is or what she normally looks like thought)

LOL, I have that SNL skit with Ferrel on DVD. It's on his best of Vol. 2, if you've never seen it, it has the best SNL skit of all time... that few have even seen. It has Pierce Brosnan and Ferrel in it, if you ever get a chance check it out.

The right wing used to have a field day ragging on "hippies" for wearing the flag as clothing. I guess the flag as business dress on fake boobs is less offensive.

Fashion changes, rather than wear the flag close to the heart, it's now worn close to the mons

i dont mind people wearing a flag on their shirt from old navy or anything..but it goes too far when it becomes an entire ensemble.

yes lets have a prom dress and drag the flag across the floor.

and as for lady gaga-shes a total woman. an empowering, well spoken..sometimes a little crazy woman. if you ever watch her interviews and teh way she talks is amazing..her passion for life, her music, for her little monsters...she is truly an amazing individual.
stop hating on people so much! the Lord ttells us to love thy neighbor...doesnt seem like many of you are.

And one final comment...Lady Gago looks like a drag queen, no matter what outfit she has on in her video. I'd rather see Will Farrell in his trunks than her pretending to be a woman.

I have to agree with some of the comments on here: I find it most offensive with someone wears the flag to "show their patriotism", whether it is some model in a bikini or some tea bagging "patriot" who would want to shoot someone for burning the flag as a political statement. While I am more than aware of the many blemishes our country has, stretching back to before we even declared independence, using the flag to cover your a$$ is not a fashion statement or showing your loyalty to the ideals we are supposed to stand for. I have more understanding for the disenfranchised who burns the flag in anger at the policies undertaken in our name than for the party convention-goer (Repugnican or Dithercrat) who puts on some cheap flag-themed suit because they "love America so much". If you love it, do something to make it a better place now and for the future, not make some crass statement with your faux patriotism.

Thank you WOT! As a female military member, I appreciate the understanding our flag (or representation thereof) is not a piece of apparrel (regardless of size) nor a decoration nor a costume nor a covering.
I wonder why those who are incensed by the burning of our flag are not incensed when our stars & stripes are being used as a crotch liner.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I think that the flag can be used to represent us in different ways at different times. Certainly, there are times to be thoughtful and reflective and sombre about it, and there are times to be joyous, playful, and even sexy about it. I'm equally able as a conscious and thoughtful American to differentiate between a time for one, or the other. I have confidence that most other Americans are as well.

The Flag Code states that the flag should never be worn. (Section 8d): "The flag should never be used as wearing apparel." The flag is not a decoration, it is the symbol of a living nation. It is not to be trivialized by well-meaning but thoughtless uses.
