Hilarious Hiker Guy FREAKS OUT Over Full Double Rainbow (VIDEO)

Huffington Post
First Posted: 7/4/10 Updated: 5/25/11

This guy really likes rainbows. I mean REALLY likes them. Then again, if I was some hiker dude (probably on mushrooms) and I saw a FULL DOUBLE rainbow, I'd probably enter crazypants mode as well. Watch as YouTube user Hungrybear9562 (amazing) goes through an intense emotional cycle, starting with "Woahs" and "Oh my Gods" and leading to crying, laughing, and wistfully asking the sky, "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?" It's so hilariously awkward that by the end of the 3 minutes you'll be laughing and crying along with him.

I can understand why the guy in the video was in tears. Natural phenomena can be pretty amazing, and at times overwhelming.

a full double rainbow... wow... I have seen that a few times... I have also seen triple rainbows which are even rarer and once I saw a full set of triple rainbows after a major storm.....

I've only seen a double twice. It is very cool, and I wasn't stoned, either. Things like this are where religions begin. Think about living 2500 or 4000 years ago and seeing a complete solar eclipse or a comet like Halley's was in 1910, when the earth was in it's tail. I love the possibility of knowing what a tribe of people surmised from something like this way back when. There are novels to be written about all of these shifts in human perception. The look on Galileo's face at the very moment he realized one of Jupiter's moons was traveling around Jupiter, not the sun.

I have to agree with some of the previous comments discussing life-changing natural events. Unfortunately, sarcasm and ego lay waste to enjoyment of them. Rather than appreciation, an event like this is dismissed as unimportant and/or trivial.

To me, this video is an excellent reminder of how small and unimportant we all are in the grand scheme of things. This rainbow is so difficult to take seriously because we can't control, modify, or change it to suit our fancy. We are powerless in front of it - an uncomfortable feeling for many people given the relative control we have over everything else in our lives. He is forced to experience the moment which he completely surrenders too. In my opinion, he was truly experiencing life during these few moments; more than most of us who've commented thus far.

Undoubtedly, I'll be mocked for my comments but that's OK. It's just sad that we've come to a point in our society where everything is examined with doubt, negativity, and sarcasm first. Rather than enjoying moments, we look for something wrong with them. Rather than appreciating good news, we wait for the bad because it's more exciting. Rather than giving the benefit of the doubt, we doubt any benefits in the first place. I really hope we move away from this mindset and start appreciating events and people with a bit more honesty and vulnerability.

Commence firing squad.

I am happy to see that no firing squad appeared.

This video gives me such joy (yes, it is mixed with hilarity) but true joy.

And I am on nothing.
